It really is unbelievable that the ABC announcers don't even want to make it a discussion.

Man, is pretty much a foregone conclusion by these guys that it's Bama.

There's no "pretty much" to it. Herbstreit straight up said it would be bama no matter what.

"Espn cares because bama brings ratings & in turn more advertising cash than okie st would bring. Its all about the cash"

BS, most of the country don't want Bama in.

This.

The attempted manipulation is so obvious too. IMO the attempt to influence the BCSCG by ESPN is disgraceful and not good for the game, and I don't care who the teams are. If Bama earns their way back in because other teams fail to take care of business, so be it, but it should not be because of an ESPN all-out media blitz.

You would think they would take the Rod Gilmore approach and weigh all the options after the final games have been played. Even the ticker at the bottom of the page is penciling Bama in.

It's been so blatant today that I don't even notice it anymore. I get all the ratings and money and shite but I can't imagine it would be that big of a drop off should Okie State get in. Not to mention, they could put Bama in the Sugar Bowl and up the ratings there from whatever that game will be without them.

After "The Game of the Century" people were bitching about not watching a rematch. Some even threatened to boycott the NCG. Doesn't sound like ratings will be high outside of Louisiana/Alabama.

There is a definite agenda. It is one thing to make the case for one team over another equally deserving team, but it is a whole different issue to act like it is a foregone conclusion that Bama should be in the NCG.

This. No longer content with simply reporting the news, ESPN is now trying to make it. I hope the voters are smart enough to see through it. A lot to ask of a bunch of washed-up ex-jocks and fired former coaches, but there's hope.

It's almost like they're trying to convince voters that they have no power in this situation, when the voters really have all the power. The objective portion of the BCS will OSU as #2

I have a feeling they are gonna just piss off the voters. I'm looking for a huge backlash!
And if you think about it the most these media guys can do is vote in the AP poll. That ain't gonna do anything for Bama.

ESPN is trying to establish a groupspeak mentality amongst voters. I would guess that many media outlets actually hate ESPN and go against their intentions so I feel the final BCS ratings will be much much closer than people think as long as VT loses and Ok State keeps on their current warpath. They only need a little over 25% of human votes.

Read other national media, they say few people outside Tuscaloosa area want to see Bama in the NC game.

That's probably the worst. Like they actually "expect" the voters to mindlessly follow their lead.

I don't think they do. I hate all the conspiracy theory stuff, but I just can't get over how blatant ESPN/ABC is being about this.

If OSU finishes this off and continues to dominate OU in the second half, yet a large portion of the votes stay the same tomorrow, is the BCS a corrupt system? ESPN/ABC shouldn't be choosing bowl game participants

I totally agree. The bias all day has been obvious. They must think they will have better ratings with Alabama in the game.

They will.

it would be a meaningless game..LSU beat bama on their own field, won the West division, won the SEC championship, beat 4 of the top 5 ranked teams, ended up 13-0 for the season with 1 more game to play..Bama on the other hand, didnt win their division, didnt win the SEC nor even played in the SECCG, sat home not playing the extra game LSU played, was beaten already by LSU, only played 2 ranked teams in the top 10, one being LSU,and Arkansas which wasnt even ranked in the top 5 till the last game of the season..Bragged on their best game being a loss to LSU, beat a meaningless Penn State team thats not even ranked..If Bama was to play LSU in the BCSNCG and beat LSU, they wind up with a 12-1 record losing to LSU and LSU would wind up 13-1 only losing to Bama in the BCSNCG,.. LSU beats Bama, Bama beats LSU,.. the game would be meaningless as far as picking National champions in college football..
