Why is Ed not coaching the bowl game?

I don't get the point him getting fired, but coaching the rest of the season, yet not coach the bowl game. If it were related to the coaching search, then why have an interim coach? Just doesn't make any sense.

I don’t think you want a new head coach coming in while your current head coach is still the “head coach”

Ed said they had a coach hired in his final press conference and he was leaving now that was the case. Said the administration told him earlier in the week he would not be coaching the bowl game if it happened. I also think no one thought it would happen! LOL

bowls don't mean shite to the p5 anymore unless you make the playoffs. now, the g5 still appreciates bowls.

Might be a bit awkward with the next head coach likely identified by that point. It’s also not a meaningful game as it used to be.

The early signing period starts on Dec 15. Need to have a new coach in place for recruiting.

Woodward told him he would have a new coach by now and that would give the new coach the time to get to know the players, etc.
