The thing about bats now is that they are all BBCOR bats unlike back in the day when you had composite bats and other different type of aluminum bats so certain brands were better. Today every brand of bat is the same. In my experience Demarini is the better BBCOR bat but Marucci is pretty good. Easton and TPX have fallen off quite a bit because they can't make those great composite bats like they use to because every brand is required to use BBCOR and also gloves play a huge role in what brand they choose. Wilson gloves are top of the line so that is also another reason why the team chooses demarini

1. LSU has a fat contract with Demarini.

2. Conflict of interest.

3. Demarini metal bats are still better than Marucci's.

The reason players switch after college is because Marucci wooden bats are second to none. That is the reason they have gained so much attention so quickly in the MLB.

FWIW, Mr. Jack Marucci's son used a demarini all through high school.

Let's not forget that Wilson is the parent company of DeMarini Sports, Inc. We wouldn't use those A2000's without the DeMarini contract.

Notice other teams that contract with Easton, Lousiville, etc. use both companies for bats and gloves. Jersey contracts are different.

These are

I'm pretty sure the real answer to this question is because Marrucci is still employed by LSU, so that is a conflict of interest.

Otherwise, LSU would have that M plastered all over The Box...and for good reason. Marrucci will be a great recruiting tool for LSU.

Pretty sure the gloves are a part of it. The contract is for more than bats. Marucci did not offer more than bats at the time the previous contract with DM began. Once Marucci can offer the whole package of bats, gloves, cleats, etc they will be considered pending any conflict of interest.

For being a Baton Rouge based company you rarely hear about them. Are they ever going to be like Louisville Slugger or Easton?

Correct. Gloves are a part of it (batting and fielding). Cleats fall under apparel (Nike).

Not sure the longevity of the contract but Marucci does offer gloves now.

Focus on the kids leagues first
In kids bats Marucci is head and shoulders better than Demarini.

Putting a Demarini in a kids hands is damn near torture as they are learning to hit. Marucci gives em tons of confidence.

I really like the Easton youth products too

Don't LSU players use Wilson and Nike for gloves and cleats?

eta: I wasn't aware that Wilson was parent of Demarini.
