Why doesn't the local media question CPM?

If you read twitter or listen to the news, radio, etc, they never question the guy. Every single guy in the media always has some optimistic spin.

Jacques Doucet just tweeted how things should be "interesting" heading into May and June. Really? Because we aren't passed that point yet?

Thank God for Cullotta. He's the only local guy to actually say what everyone else is scared to say.

All of the media boys are scared of losing access to LSU. They play too nice and suck up to the coaches. No one journalist has the balls to challenge a coach's philosophy for fear of being blacklisted. Just the way it is.

They may lose their ability to ask questions if they piss off the coaches? Just a guess. It is annoying, though. We know they all read this.

I still get a good laugh at Johnny Jones getting a new job before Les did.

To be fair I'm sure Les could have gotten an assistant job somewhere.

I applied for a media credential for TD.com. Waiting for Chicken to finalize all that for me.

I'll play along here because I know these guys.

First off, in my opinion it's not the media's job to pin losses on someone or essentially tell a coach he's doing a poor job. And I think the media has asked Mainieri much of what you want to know. You know how Mainieri feels about recruiting, midweek philosophy, expectations,etc.. Whether you like the answers or not, that has nothing to do with how the media treats him. He's spoken on the Gibbs and Cain hires, too.

As far as the media never criticizing LSU, I'm pretty sure everyone was on board with the football coaching change. Everyone saw what was happening with the basketball program. Hanny didn't like that hire from the start.

Matt has questioned the O hire from the start. I didn't love it. Still don't.

Media isn't going to kick and scream like fans do. They're working.

This has been a disappointing baseball season for sure, but it's not over. Hopefully the team goes to Tuscaloosa and wins 3 games. 13-8 isn't horrendous.

Why would you want them to question him?

Solid perspective, Hunt. Can't argue with what you said. Just frustrated

Hunt, I would like to praise you for posting things and giving us some insight. We all know the BR sports media read this board but yet are too cowardly to post. They just reference "internet message boards" when discussing inside info.

I appreciate your pov's. (No homo)

What's it with you and always referencing 104.5 radio personalities? Hmmm....

They just don't, but they sure went after Les Miles, even before 2011.

It's baseball and it's LSU baseball at that. We are over ranked and realistic fans can see that.

He does give straightforward answers an doesn't sugar coat with pointless "coach speak" as much as most coaches and the media respects that.

I'd imagine that'd play a role in the media respecting cpm's position as well?
