Why do Tulane fans act like a scorned woman when it comes to LSU?

The amount of jealousy is unreal considering the rivalry has been dead for years. Every once in a while I'll venture over to the Ye Ole Green Wave forum and the disdain for all things LSU is still alive and well. I never hear LSU fans say anything about Tulane anymore, it's almost as though they don't even exist.

I've always kind of wondered that myself. I think it might have something to do with just how many LSU fans are in New Orleans as opposed to Tulane fans. Or hell, that a good portion of Tulane students are probably LSU sports fans.

LSU fans rarely care about Tulane, ULL, Miss State, or OM. Especially if we never lose to them. I think OM yells go to hell LSU at the end of the anthem. And most of the time we don't even have them circled 4th or 5th on our schedule.

I'm an LSU fan that roots for Tulane as long as they're not playing LSU or my alumni, Southeastern.
Tulane is trying to do everything they can to revamp their football program. I just hope it wasn't too late.
I other news, I know LSU's enrollment is down nearly 5%. Curious to know if anyone knows Tulane's?

Graduated from Tulane myself for my undergrad. Walked around most days with LSU shirts on
But that is true, there does seem to be a good majority of Tulane fans, even students from out of state, that absolutely hate LSU. There isn't much reasoning behind it either. When asked, the most common answer is "LSU fans are just a bunch of dicks". Although they might not be completely wrong, most of them had never even met an LSU fan outside of myself.
I guess they are just trying to hold on to a past where they were once relevant in major college sports.

Honestly not a bad answer. As a kid who went to plenty of Tulane-LSU baseball games in the early 2000's when the rivalry was real, wearing Tulane gear, I would have probably told you the same thing. But of course things have changed in that rivalry and I know plenty of LSU fans and pretty much all of my friends are LSU fans
