Game is over by 9:30 or so. They are on campus anyway. Where are they trying to get to at 8pm? When I was in school, the after game parties wouldn't start till .... after the game.

Is there some place on campus better to be on a Saturday night than inside Tiger Stadium for a football game? You have around 30 other weekends of the year on campus to be anywhere else. Only 6-7 a year to be inside Death Valley. Why just stay there for the first half?

Where are you going?

I usually stay late for every game with no exceptions but yesterday I just got sick and tired of watching our shite and left for Fred's in the 2nd quarter to get more drunk. They finally pushed me over the edge

It's everywhere, not just here. Students want to socialize, drink, and party; and football on a big screen is just fine. Saban called out Bama students last year for not attending games and leaving early.

Most of them don't understand football. They get bored because cell phone service sucks. Poor lil city slickers

Let me tell you how it works, this is how you can classify the students.

1. Girls, who don't care and leave to go drink or to take a nap.

2. Guys trying to get laid or forced to leave with said girls above.

3. People who really want to drink and are disinterested unless it's a major game.

4. Football enthusiasts/loyalists... They're the minority who stay for most/all of the game.

THIS is why every incoming freshman/new student should have to take & pass LSU History. What a GREAT class this would be to learn about the founding & progression of the University as well as to learn of all the terrific sports stories. Could be a terrific way for top alums to come back to speak & "give back".

Free drinks at bars for multiple hours will sway young minds.

I like where your head's at, but you really underestimate how little college aged kids give a frick. The main reason anyone is in college in today's world is to get drunk, frick random people, and party their asses off. (If you don't believe me, google the average college drop out rate)

LSU football and its traditions simply don't mean anything to them.

It's comparable to the loss of Cajun speech: with each passing generation, the number of Cajun speakers decreases both in number and as a percentage of the population. Same trend with LSU football: the passion for LSU football diminishes with each generation. It's just not what it used to be. Even that stretch of Golden Years in the 2000's and 2011 couldn't impact their ADD tendencies.
