Why do teams play conservative against LSU/Bama?

Makes no sense why teams play scared against these top teams. I mean Florida beats them deep on 1st play of game and then Muschamp does nothing after that. Kentucky punts the ball everytime instead of at least trying to win.

This board doesn't need another coach.

But this post absolutely makes no football sense.

More bad things can happen than good when you pass. You cannot pass well without a good running game? Oregon and WV did not play "conservative" against us. Not having anyone open and pressure will shut down a good offense that never faces defenses worth a damn.

eta: i think the WV game is a another subject that doesn't need to be discussed further. Bottom line, we still played good defense. You need to just look at the right numbers.

Considering how our offense was sluggish at times, why wouldn't they punt?

ETA: are we watching the same games?

So it seems your football IQ ain't that bright...

More often than not, a good defense can dictate what a good offense does.

Oakland Raiders #1 Offense vs Tamba Bay Bucs #1 Defense

OU vs FSU in 2000 BCSCG
UF vs OU in 2008 BCSCG

Think he's talking about punting in short yardage 4th downs. I wondered if KY would go for a couple there myself. But I do see why when our offense wasn't firing all that great but defense was on point.

Fl opened up the game with a touchdown bomb.

Oh well then in that case I think Joker Phillips knew his chances of winning were very slim. May have had the attitude that his defense was stopping us for the most part and better to lose by 28 than 49.
