Why do so many people get excited for the spring game?

Completely honest post here. Not bashing anyone who enjoys it. I just don't. Nothing against anyone who does.
My question is how do you get excited about this? It's nothing more than a practice session that is open to the public. You can't tell anything from it (MHO). Any big stat is usually deceiving.
I've never understood why people get so blown away by crowds at these things either. Most, if not all, are free so why is it so "awesome" that so many people came to a free event? We don't get that excited for festivals downtown and they're free.
Also, lastly, do y'all enjoy the regurgitating of spring game talk that will be on the radio this week? The morning show will talk ahout and probably have Corey Webster on to give zero real input. Hanny and Ott will just say the same stuff as the morning guys and Ott will bring on some buddy like Delacono to talk ahout the importance of the game. Then Moscona will come off as extremely knowledgable about what we learned in the game and he will probably bring fricking Mike D on to dissect what happened.
It all just seems like overkill for a practice, to me.
I'm not saying I don't enjoy LSU football because I do. But this time of year, especially now that the baseball team is starting to play really well, it's hard to care at all ahout football. Come August, I'll be ready to roll with the team though.
Sorry for the long post. Again, not trying to flame/bash anyone. Just an honest question I had.

It's football in April.
It's the last of football until August.

I can't remember the last time I missed an LSU game. I could barely make it through the 1st quarter of the Spring Game. Was quite boring.

Because I love all phases of LSU football....not just the games during the season.

People suffer from football deprivation. They are starved for football. It's not a meal. It's not even a taste; but at least you get to smell the aroma of something cooking in the kitchen.

And some people think 102,000 in a stadium for a game is overkill.

You are not required to:
Go
Watch
Listen
Read about it
Talk about it
Give a shite
Or be a decent human being
So why are you here to bitch?
Those kids bust their arse and this is the culmination of their hard work.

no, you are just miserable because you felt the need to tell everyone. WTf man

What the other posters are trying to say is that you seem miserable all of the time.

last time i checked, we're not packing the stadium as a fanbase for the spring game so most people probably feel like you do. I however, enjoy all things LSU football and gladly watched a recording of it last night. Did I piss myself with excitement? No, but it was a relaxing way to end the week watching a team i love.

While I mostly agree, I think you can address player talent and for those who go it's simply an activity for them or their kids that's centered around a love....LSU.

With only 21,000 in attendance, not too many do get excited, huh?

Can you really address talent thiugh? I mean, if everything is so sterile, isn't that hard to do?
By the way, I'm not miserable. I just have a life away from LSU sports.

Nobody cares about the spring game as long as Les is here putting out that same old boring arse hit snooze 5 times-offense onto the field. Harris went 10-16 in a no contact jersey and we're celebrating it. You would think after all the shite LSU has been through on offense, you would try to spend every waking moment trying to develop a passing game because we can obviously run the ball.
But no. The starter throws the ball 16 times in a practice and the offense is now fixed.
lol. Just wait until November.
The only reason I would have gone was to see Aranda's D.
If Jimbo would have been hired, the spring game would have a helluva lot more people there.
These miles boot lickers will deny it, but it's the truth.

Damn Op was just being honest and I agree. I guess some people have to analyze anything they can get going into 5 months before we play Wisky for real and I understand that. Some of bullies need to get a life with your bashing.
