Why do people on this board continue to bash Miles?

It’s clear he will be let go and yet the threads continue bashing him. His refusal to change will cost him his job here but he loves LSU and has given the fans the most successful 11 year stretch in the school's history.
I do think it's time for change but the man should be shown some respect for what he has done.

secondly, the things that ARE getting bashed are his abilities and decisions as a coach, not his personal existence.
The ONLY thing that has made me angry over the past few days on this board are the lame attempts of some posters to paint les as some sort of mental midget, but that's only a few douche posters like rex.
Other than that, there has been VERY LITTLE bashing and I feel like you weird miles cult members are taking any criticism of the man as a coach as an assault on the man himself because you are trying to invent a "world" in which you guys are the defenders of a "nice guy", while the rest of us are evil barbarians with pitchforks and torches.
frick off and get off your high horse.

A million upvotes I wish I could give you for this post sir.

I'd have to agree that he deserves respect, but I haven't seen much bashing. I've seen a lot of "it's sad that the time has come for him to go but it's here." Also a lot of talk about people wanting him here in the program, statues…etc Only real negative I see is the thought of ruining such a great recruiting class. With a good/timely replacement made hopefully it won't hurt to bad though.

Jesus y'all people! We respect him, we're just ready for a change. Quit trying to make yourself feel better about yourself by getting on an anonymous board and defending somebody. We all love miles for what he has done, we are simply explaining to the uneducated and uninformed why he needs to go. It's not bashing, it's simply stating facts to the people who are scared to replace him because the fear of what "could" happen if fire him. It's worth the risk, we need new blood. I'd rather take the risk than settle for second fiddle.

I could tell you really despise Miles after reading some of your crap last night where you wrote a post about 13 paragraphs long, and you stated at the very beginning how much you appreciate Miles and weren't going to trash him, then spent the the last 11 or 12 paragraphs stabbing the guy in the back.
shite, if you don't like him, just come out and admit it. Don't lie your arse off about it.

Not a lot of people are outright bashing the man. It's The ones that root for Miles over the program that are coming around talking about how dumb we are for getting rid of him that are causing the counter arguments. I love how you pumpers try to manipulate and twist the argument to fit your narrative.
I have nothing but respect for Miles but anyone that can't see it's time for change needs to look at the facts. Want to stop seeing the truth then quit making threads knighting for him.

All of that. Couldn't be said any better!

What do you consider bashing? Did someone attack him personally or did someone say he's not the greatest coach in the world?

I like him and respect him and yeah I will miss him but come on, I criticized his product and the results of his actions and inactions or lack thereof which caused alot of the issues weve been having the last 4 years, I dont know why you cant just state your opinion rather than moral crusading all the damm boards...

Dont tell me as a fam, you havent wanted to ask about key issues with the program? Like why we cannot develop a QB or offense, what happened in the title game on 01/09/2012? What did we do exactly to prepare for that game? Where is the passion in this years team? Dont kid yourself and act like you as a fan havent had these burning questions or have sat there and accepted the results as they are.

WTF are you talking about idiot? Perhaps I should have said bashing in the threads. I am talking about his coaching. I am not a fan of Miles as a coach and I said it was time for a change. He lost me after the 21-0 fiasco.

In that particular post, you said "I'm not going to trash the man", then proceed to publish a novel doing that very thing. I could care less if you or anybody else likes or respects the man, but frick, don't be a hypocrite about it.

In my opinion, I think Miles is a good man and a decent human being. I also think he's a good coach. He has a good overall record here at LSU, although I will admit the past few years have been hard to endure. I also believe he has represented the university well and loves being at LSU and cares for his players, coaches and the fans.
At this point, with everything that has happened, I don't see how he could be retained as the head coach without it hurting recruiting or being able to hire decent assistant coaches.
It's time to move on and hire a new coach, I just find it sad and pitiful for fans of LSU football to be kicking the man while he's down.
And as far as my "moral crusading all the damn boards", I have no fricking clue what you're babbling about. Perhaps you just got your feelings hurt because I disagreed with your post from yesterday.

This is all I want brother, your honest opinion on the matter, thanks for the reply, I definitelt understand you points and agree with nearly all of them but Im not kicking the man when hes down, his pride the past 4 years with the lack of changes and adjustments, no QB development and the OC and DC disasters is what is getting his job. The pride always comes before the fall but that doesnt mean I am basking in the glory bc his tenure is soon to be completed

This!
What I have seen over the best few days are not LSU fans, but Les Miles cult members. I don't say Les Miles fans because even fans can't be as delusional as some of them have been recently.
I am a Les Miles fan not a Les Miles cult member which means several things
1) I will not bash other successful coaches just because we are firing Miles or he is retiring.
2) I will not inflate his wins or losses just to shite on other coaches and paint people as evil traitors of the "Miles Republic"
3) I will not despise and attack other Miles fans/LSU fans just because they question his coaching over the last several seasons
4) I will not side with other fans and national media to back up my support of Miles because they don't know shite except for the W/L column and those other "Clones" would rather LSU suffer and would never take Miles if they had the chance.
5) If I am a "Rebel" because I appreciate what Miles did but now side with "The New Hope", so be it.
