Why did Miles go for a 27 yard TD on the last play vs Auburn in 2007?

This is a really stupid move even if it worked. If the pass is incomplete the clock expires and LSU loses the game. I assume that your odds of completing a 27 yard pass when the opponent knows that's what you're trying to do are about 5-10%. If your FG kicker can't hit a 44 yarder 5-10% of the time then what is he doing in D-I? If this pass had fallen incomplete there would have been no NC, Miles reputation would be far from as good as it is and Miles probably would have been fired following the 2015 season.

Wrong...There would have been over 1 second and any time left was enough time to Kick the FG...

More than a second

Similar to the Texas/Nebraska game in 09, they would have went to the booth and added time

The play was fine Flynn just took way too long to snap the ball. Plus there was actually more than 1 second left on the clock.
