I know it was due to exams, but 2 full weeks? No other school takes more than a week for exams. They usually skip there mid week game and play Saturday and the following Saturday. I feel like the last thing this team needs is 2 weeks off. They played well against Houston, I have a feeling they will come out flat against North Carolina Central. We better look out too, NC Central just beat Mizzo.

Whats the rants thoughts on two weeks off for exmas? shite, in high school we didn't get any time off. I know college exams are a little different, but still.

Because you can only play a certain amount of non conference games. We have exams, usually the team takes off 8-10 days with the exams anyway, but because of our Atlantis tournament, we have more games right now than we normally do. So I imagine he's using this as a way for the players to focus on academics, then spend a little time with their family since basketball players miss Thanksgiving and often times aren't around home for Christmas. It's a mini break prior to our last few OOC games and the SEC slate.

I noticed that as well. All the other SEC schools were playing this weekend.

We are playing 30 games like everyone else, really no different. It's not like some years where we ended up only playing 29 games.

Oh okay, i just thought it was weird that we took a full 2 weeks off. Usually its only a week or 10 days. 14 days seems like a lot mid season.

As an aside, does anyone know the status of Brandon Jenkins?

He has been hyped as a potential good addition.

Is he practicing yet? First game date?

Really curious about this, I hate that no news to me feels like he's out potentially all season. If we had ANY hope of maybe sneaking into the tournament, he is a key piece to do that in SEC play with his defense. We just dont have the depth otherwise.

My guess is they are concentrating on THEIR grammar studies so as to not appear ignorant.

I originally thought that Jenkins might be a redshirt candidate if he missed too much time, but it appears he redshirted in junior college. He is already on his fourth year of college.

I am curious about Jenkins as well. We could really use the depth. I am hoping the team can stay playing consistent and scratch out a few wins in conference.

How long did it take for you to come up with this? I appreciate you looking out for my grammar mistake. I will read up on my grammar rules. When to use the correct there, their, they're.

Since Alleva let them decline postseason play, it was determined they really didn't feel like regular season play either.

Until your athletic department starts giving a remote shite about basketball, why should you, the fans, or the players give a shite either?

We are playing one less than allowed if we're only playing 30.

quote:

Teams can schedule 29 regular season games without participating in a multi-team exempt event (MTE) or 27 and an MTE that can include no more than four games, for a total of 31. Previously, the limit was 28 with an MTE counting as one, even though it could include anywhere from two to four games.
