Why Chip Kelly?

Ik he has a dynamic offense, but he has never at Oregon had a good defense. Could it have been the players they were recruiting on defense? Or the coaching staff he put together there?

His defenses were undersized. Recruiting in the South would change that issue. He'd be an amazing hire.

He was able to get more and more kids interested in going all the way to Oregon from anywhere in the country on a regular basis.
He was hard for anyone that didn't have TM7 and Mingo to stop.
His DC rarely had the type of players on D that we produce in Louisiana and throughout the south.
A well-known and respected name that caries a lot of prestige.
Couldn't see this being a bad hire in any way.

Think about saban and how he spurned lsu, went to the nfl, then came back to dominate college football.....be crazy for that to happen in LSU's favor.

Don't base everything on one head to head meeting. We fired Dinardo and he beat the shite out of one guy in a bowl game. Nick "something". Nick went on to take over for DiNardo and........well, you know the rest.

Saban struggles with mobile QBs and spread teams more than others. Chip would run Saban to retirement.
