Is he not a done deal to USCe?

He is my favorite candidate, but I thought he was a gone pecan.

Fill me in on why I can get excited that he might be our guy.

Jimbo has deep recruiting roots in the south. We've lost a lot of recruiting ground to Bama despite the projected class this year. Having said that, he could still get the job done.

I'm fine with Jimbo, I just love Herman. Whoever gets Herman has a legend in the making for a LONG time. I like that prospect.

If jimbo doesn't come and we take Herman over chip...I hope we get exactly what we deserve. Hopefully people in sec learned their lesson with a previous Houston coach that killed it on offense too.

I don't disagree. Either would be great.

I don't need the link. I know how good he is. My question is why are people thinking we can get him still? I thought USCe and he already had ab agreement. Can we sneak in and steal him still?

I know things have been developing quickly, but I thought ESPN reported that Herman had withdrawn his name from the USCE search. Maybe I missed something.

Do you have any idea how stupid this is? Guess what, Sumlin does not equal Herman. They are two completely different types of coaches.

Please stop saying that since Sumlin is mediocre in the SEC that Herman will be too. It's fricking dumb.

I thought he officially withdrew from consideration at USCe and now Smart is the leading candidate.

During his halftime interview today they asked him how they were so successful in the first half and the first words out of his mouth were, "we're running the football."

He likes to run it, unlike Sumlin, and with his scheme and our backfield---whoa. Could be special.

People cannot compare Herman to Sumlin. Sumlin has always only ran bubble screens and plays like that, aka a very pedestrian offense. Herman's offense is extremely balanced. He will stretch the field, throw deep, and run the power run game out of the shotgun. Sumlin and Herman have completely different offenses. Only similarity is that they both like shotgun and both coach at UH.

Shallow thinkers are everywhere. For someone to equate Herman to Sumlin is just stupid. Sounds like an ESPN "expert" kind of thinking. Just stupid.

OK...sorry man. You are right...means nothing that Sumlin killed it at Houston too. I agree now...y'all convinced me...if it were between Herman and Kelly...no brainer ...Herman is a proven hc...Kelly is a risk.

Again...sorry. I can't think for myself...rant kids obviously know best.

Lmao...@ the shallow thinker comment. If you only knew who you are talking to....you may think a little differently.

Speaking of shallow thinkers...it's those that think chip Kelly wouldn't absolutely kill it here...he is by far the most innovative offensive mind out there...oh and he killed it in a p5 conference against more talented teams usually.

I'm not a herman hater...but if you had a choice IRS a huge nobrainer...but I know this thread is a Herman masturbating thread so I don't expect any to agree....especially from a shallow thinker.

All I'm seeing on google is Herman is out and Smart is in as the USCe frontrunner.

Oh I'm talking Kelly too. But you can't crap on Herman just because Sumlin coached at Houston.
