Why are LSU athletics so dysfunctional?

I mean with respect to everything except money. LSU is really, really good at making money.
But think about it.
Great recruiting, but disappointing results on the field/court. Coaches with major deficiencies, unable to stop slides. AD mishandling the whole thing. Donors fricking shite up. Schizophrenic, unrealistic fan base turning on the teams, and on each other. In the end, just disappointment after disappointment.
Is this just what major college athletics is all about? Or is it just who we are.....

This all pretty much goes on everywhere.
A few schools get on runs in certain sports. But it's rare to have it all going at the same time.

Pretty sure we are in the same boat as almost every other power 5 conference athletic program. Every body expects to win it all and then when it doesn't happen everybody wants to the fire the coach.

Agree! Most of the population is made up of "Settlers". They will settle for just having a program. Without Emert, LSU would still be settling for middle of the pack despite so much talent within the state.

Because Louisiana in general is lacking in leadership, whether it be in traditional politics, education administration and/or athletic dept/coaches

What has UT, USC, Michigan, ND won recently? Nothing in the big 3. Slew of other well known athletic programs that haven't done shite either.

Yup. Somebody has to lose. Why are basically all the other basketball teams dysfunctional aside from Kentucky? Why are basically all the other fb teams dysfunctional aside from Alabama?

Lsu football is only disappointing to football ignorant lsu fans. Since 2008 we have finished in the top 20 6 out of 7 seasons.
While top 20 seasons arent that special, they arent disappointing.

You dont do anything to make lsu football a better product yet get on here talking about what level of success you will accept.
