A few years ago when he was the USC interim coach he was getting praise from all of the talking heads in the media , and when he didn’t get the job they were all going ape shite about him not getting a fair shake .
So what is different now , what’s the reason so many of them shite on O now the he’s the LSU coach ...

Btw I was against the hire , but now that he’s here I’m willing to at least give him a chance ...

Failed at what , according to most on here the program under Les was in the shitter and needed change , so you only give the new coach 1 year to fix it .

Yea failed how? It’s the modern day mob mentality. There’s enough noise around LSU fans for national media run with it. I hope and pray he makes fools out of all of them.

Honest answer?

Anemic offensive performance against Bama in 16
Loss to UForfeit in 16
Worst loss to Moo State ever
Troy
Pussing out against Notre Dame in Guice’s last Game.

All except the loss to Bama in 16 are inexcusable.

As I said in a previous thread though, win and all will be forgotten and forgiven. What he needs to do to win the fan base over is very simple, but very difficult

I personally don't think taking over in the middle of a season as interim coach is a good way to evaluate if someone is fit to run a program

Major difference between being an interim coach and a full time coach

That said hopefully O can prove everyone wrong including myself, he has the chance to this season

I think the point of concern is that LSU did need a change, most would agree, but nobody was prepared to see O become the HC replacing a fired Les.

You are being foolish if you think the media are reporting their actual opinions. They say whatever they think will get them ratings. Relax about this.

I agree and I think O should have never gotten the LSU job , in fact I don’t think he should have ever been hired at LSU after bailing out and going to Tennessee with his buddy Lane , I blame it all on F king and Alleva , but my question is about the media having so much love for O at one time and now they’re basically laughing at him .,,

Look he’s our coach now and I wish him the best .,,

You people are nothing if not predictable:

1. The "dream job" narrative was conviently shifted from USC to LSU.
2. Miss. State, Troy, Notre Dame & Matt Canada were alarm bells.
3. LSU was not in the shitter at the end of Miles but it was time for him to move on.
4. Alleva did a horrifically lazy job when he hired O.
5. O has consistently blamed everyone: players, coaches, former coaches for any missteps.
6. SEC coaching turnover last cycle provided significant upgrades.
7. It's time for O to put up or shut up.

I believe if he wouldn’t have choked against rival ucla he would’ve been named head coach.
