Hopefully Lange turns it around tomorrow for the rest of the season, and we get Latz soon. If that happens, particularly the former, and as our young hitters get more than experience and confidence, we could improve into a team no one wants to play by the time the postseason comes around.

He was nails against A&M. Kinda have the feeling he will rise to the occasion. Also, he will have the home field advantage, and not have to deal with all the jizz jar wierdo fans like in college station.

Been saying it since the Some College in California State Sunday game, Valek is our most consistent pitcher.

Poche has been a consistent, dominating pitcher for LSU. I'm not very surprised that he's our ace. I'd have put those odds at 40% before the season started. If Lange stayed in last year's form, there's no way Poche would be the ace, but Lange didn't have to slip much to fall behind Poche.

For some reason Poche is underestimated by our fans. I think his inability to field his position in the CWS jaundiced a lot of fan's view of his pitching. I keep hearing even knowledgeable fans saying he can't get out of the fifth or sixth inning. But last year, as he stretched out, he was routinely pitching 7 dominant innings.

Oh, and I'm thrilled with Valek. Whoever said he's been our most consistent pitcher is technically correct, but he hasn't been our best pitcher - that would be Poche.

Thank you!

I don't understand why everyone thinks Poche is a surprise this year. He's only doing what he has done since he has been here. I tell my buddies this all the time.

Is he a shut down pitcher like Lange CAN be? No. But with Poche on the mound, you will always have a darn good chance of winning.

When Lange gets back into form, we will have two aces in my book... as we did last year.

"Ace" can ebb-n-flow across a season. What can't be downplayed is how clutch Lange has been the last two weeks.

Last week: had been embarrassed by Tulane in the mid-week and lost the opener to AU (where Lange had on off day - and that's being sort of nice). And Poche pitches well.

This week: #3 ranked Vandy and first SEC series this season where we've won the opener.

Interested to see how this team plays with the 'series-lead.'

Poche' last night was dominating against a tough lineup. With our history of great pitchers and pitching last night is up there.

I think "ace" is TBD at this juncture .....
