Nickel package players usually have to defend a slot receiver and those receivers are usually smaller, quicker, and will go across the field. We need a defender who fits that mold. That's what made Dwayne Thomas so good at that spot. Plus he was a great blitz backer.

Mills is best suited for this if we feel comfortable with Adams at safety. I think Paris will continue to be groomed for this role now that Thomas is down.

It looks like DT is out for the year. Fortunately for LSU the DBs are probably the deepest position group on the team.
