Remember that guy from Shreveport who left hs a year early to play at USC then got drafted in the first round by the marlins, transferred back to lsu, then would step out of bounds to avoid hits and quit the team to model fishnet shirts???? Craig Nall I believe it was. Me and my buds talk about him.

Damian James was heavily courted by Michigan and was baited by the idea of being "the next Charles Woodson." I believe they had his last name on a #2 jersey when he made his official. Fortunately, Saban and the REC got him to LSU.

Whoops, reading his LSU bio, never actually went to michigan. As I recall, he sure thought long and hard about it though. This old timer does forget things, sometimes. . .

He was considering Michigan because his college DC at the time, Terry Joseph, was offered the DB coach job at Michigan and had all intent of going there. Joseph was then offered I believe the DC position at La tech and took that instead. LSU was always Jai's first choice, but he was going to go to Michigan if his coach went there.

Jai Eugene had a kid as like a sophomore in high school or something. Damien James was legit, but I don't remember a connection with Michigan.

There was a kid around the Woodson era named Benny Guillbeaux that went to Notre Dame out of Louisiana and he was legit.

Work with his uncle. Not a true statement at all.
Wanting to see his child is what made him change his mind on going to Michigan.

Craig Nall was a QB from Alex. Committed to LSU and was named starting QBs a RS Soph. Very talented QB with no help from WR's. Lost the spot to Josh Booty. Transferred to Northwestern and was a backup in the NFL for 5 years.

John David booty graduated HS early and went to USC. I believe it was after leinart. He was drafted by Vikings.

Josh booty played for the marlins 1994-1998 and eventually came to LSU in 1999. He played in cinncinati or Cleveland a few seasons.

Abram booty played WR at LSU.

Abram booty got hurt at ls

James was thought to be going to Michigan. At La Football Magazine awards, James was there to receive a high school award. At that time kids would sometimes make verbal commits at the banquet. Word is James left with Kevin Faulk and went to play pool at Clicks (in same vicinity as the banquet) Faulk was still at LSU at the time and put the press on James. James went back to the banquet and verbally committed to LSU. A Michigan coach was said to be at the banquet and was shocked at the happenings. That's the story I've heard from guy who ran the banquet.

Eugene was a verbal commit to Michigan that had a change of heart I'm signing day and signed with LSU. He never became the "Star" everyone thought he would become, but a strong contributor to the team.

Craig Nall is from Alexandria. And you're combining Josh and John David Booty.
