Only Crowton after the NC Game in 2008. It was short lived too

I'm glad to see Crowton get a little love on here. I played under him at La Tech, & he was really was a wizard back in the day. We lead the nation in offense for like three straight years before he left to go OC the Chicago Bears under Dick Jauron.

Some of the stuff we did at Tech was awesome. Many of our route trees were based off of 20 yard field lengths... So one time in a game against T A&M, we had the ball at the 15. Crowton wanted one of our marquee route patterns, so we intentionally acted like we couldn't get the play in time, & purposefully took the 5 yard delay of game, to move us back to the 20. Coach smiles and says "perfect." We snap the ball, Rattay knows what he needs and fires for a quick TD. I just started laughing. Lol. It was great!

Yes, 2007 was mostly his offense, with a little of Miles' two TE, power formation stuff mixed in. Sadly, Miles got super super possessive of the offense, & basically took it all over. Crowton would design his stuff in practices, but Miles would override everything on game day. WE NEVER EVER RAN A SHORTSIDE OPTION AT TECH!!

The rant was just too volatile at the time for me to come out and say anything. Lol. I saw the debates, but I just didn't want to get into the heated discussions. Time went on to show Les was running the offense from 2008 - on. He gradually took more and more control, as we all started to see.

Thinking about it more Morris Watts was a solid OC from 95-97. They laid a few eggs from 96-98 LSU's woes were the Defense during the 98 season not Watts's offense. Hard to pick between the two.

Crowton was awesome in 2007 and is the main reason LSU won that NC. best LSU offense I've seen.

Jimbo was not hated, but not universally loved either. His offenses were often conservative. Many times they'd fail against a defense with a pulse. Although now we know it was Saban and Miles holding him back Bc they wanted to win with defense. Give Jimbo and good QB and let him open things up, and suddenly you have 2001 Rohan or 2006 Russell.

That’s because this fan base is stupid.

Jimbo had lots of support from anybody who knows football.

I don’t think we’ve run a bubble screen since he left. Probably also no coincidence that outside of 2 years, we haven’t had a legit QB. There’s a reason you run the bubble screen. Quick easy throws that gets playmakers the ball in space and gets the QB into a rhythm.
