People were not happy that we offered him when we did. I remember people being outraged that we offered and accepted his commitment. I remember many people thinking that we were way above taking a three star wide receiver that year. I love seeing those guys excel. Way to go Mo!

No Tyran?
Tyrann was ranked in the top 250 players in the nation by Rivals, and several of their national/regional analysts wanted him in the top 100. He was dubbed the "Best Cover Corner" in the nation by Rivals. Obviously he outperformed his ranking, but he was still very respectably ranked, hardly came out of nowhere.

Dalton Hilliard. Garry James was the big name that year. The kid from Patterson was an afterthought.

I'd have to go with Tito Horford.

If you're going down that road, I'll submit Nebosha Bukumirovich, "the Serbian Magic Johnson." He was supposed to be a 6-8 point guard with mad ball skills. The surprise was that when he showed up on campus, he was about 6-2 and slow.

Kevin Steltz was a walkon and provided bone jarring blocking from the FB spot. The mighty Quinn Johnson was even better, but I do not recall what kind of recruit he was so I can't say if he qualifies. K. Steltz, as a walk-on, deserves some consideration, though.

Can't recall how many stars Josh Reed merited out of high as a running back, but it was dang sure a surprise when he set records and won the Belitnikoff Award as teh nation's top WR!

Quinn was a 3* LB as a recruit.

Please add to the LA history book, Colis Temple was the 1st african american to play b-ball at LSU.

When his boys played, it was always a running bet to see how long it would take to say that.
