Deichmann finished Scivicque's AB coming in at 2-2 count. He struck out...

But who should be charged with the K? There's a rule and an answer, but I'm curious what the board thinks is correct.

The guy who gets the last strike. People take first strikes all the time, even on purpose. The one that matters is the last one that records the out.

I always thought the strikeout went to the injured player. Anything other than a strikeout is credited to the new batter.

LSU will have to go back and change that themselves before sending the NCAA our stats since Tulane did the scoring for last night's game.

Probably the same guy who gets credit with the hit, BB, RBI, etc if the AB ends that way.

SECTION 10—substitute batter
When a batter leaves the game with two strikes on him, and
a substitute batter strikes out, charge the strikeout to the first
batter. If a substitute batter completes the turn at bat in any
other manner, including a base on balls, charge the action to
the substitute batter

I felt for him because that pitch he saw didn't look like a strike and I knew that his night was over before it really began.

Right, the strikeout goes to the original hitter but anything else to the pinch hitter. May be a glitch in the stats program.

It's an odd rule... it actually uses some common sense.

So does it count as a plate appearance for deichmann? Or is it like he never went up there?

I would assume he doesn't get credit for an AB as well.
