Who is the "worst" QB in the last 30 years that could lead this team to a NC?

It is almost unanimously agreed on this board that QB play will likely decide whether or not this team wins a NC. While it is yet to be seen how well JJ has improved for 2011, slightly above average play from him should get us to the NC.
That said, who is the "worst" LSU QB in the last 30 years who could lead this team to a NC?
Alternatively, JJ has to play at least as well as ________ to get this team to a NC?

LSU is a common pick for the NC this year according to a few publications. Of course NC predictions before the season starts are based on assumptions. Because you do not seem to have the mental capacity to answer the question does not mean that you need to belittle it.

Yes...Herb Tyler is better then Josh Booty. Which is why if Jefferson plays at Tyler level we win a National Title. Playing at Booty level is too damn risky.

No one is asking who is the worst QB at LSU of all time. This is why you should read the question.
If thy guy answers "Herb Tyler is the worst QB from LSU in the past 30 years that could STILL lead this team to a NC", it does not mean Herb Tyler sucks. If you believe Herb Tyler was better than Booty (I agree), then all that means is that Booty could NOT lead this team to a NC. Get it?

Your question was stupid because A) it clearly assumes that most everyone here agrees with the asinine suggestion that QB play will be, without question, the biggest factor in whether or not LSU makes it to the NCG, and B) because it assumes that LSU is so fricking loaded that merely slightly above average QB play is enough for LSU to sail into NOLA.
LSU is in the SEC...plays what everyone agrees is a brutal schedule...and has an additional hurdle in the SECCG to overcome before getting to NOLA. And yet, you make it sound like LSU is s shoe in if ONLY our QB doesn't completely suck. As if there aren't a thousand other fricking things that need to happen for LSU to make it.
Like I said...it's stupid and does not need to be taken seriously. This is the kind of mindless, bullshite fan behavior that makes it impossible to be around some of our fans. To openly suggest that a NCG appearance is practically guaranteed if our QB doesn't suck is WHY you'll have LSU fans (idiots) looking to slit their own throats come November if LSU has taken a loss or 2.

Defense wins most championships, but there are examples of teams with average defenses and great offenses that win games. No team has ever won its division with the worst offense in their division, which proves defenses cannot always overcome. I am not saying LSU has the worst offense in the West, rather I am saying that LSU's offense has to be at least decent to win a NC. Do you disagree?
