As a non-LSU fan, without even opening the thread, my first thought was Shaq.

Not his fault but he never won anything. It's Shaq.

You do some homework. Pistol Pete never graduated

Ramsey Dardar
I will say that dude KICKED Dave Remington's arse in that 1982 orange bowl. With any kind of QB play we win that game.
Shaq did graduate and has went out of his to represent our school. For a long time Pistol Pete did not speak to anyone at LSU b/c of his father's firing, etc.
Bert Jones represented the school very well.
Cannon was a criminal.

If this rant is about the LSU Alum that represents the university well and ALWAYS talks up LSU, my vote goes to David Toms.

Alumni is a plural word. A person cannot be an alumni by himself.

Shaq is probably the single most dominant player to ever play any single sport. I can't think of anyone who even comes close.
Top players I think are:
-- Barry Sanders
-- Michael Jordan
-- Wilt Chamberlain
-- Babe Ruth
-- Tiger Woods or some other golfer
Shaq was really in his own world in the late 90's and most of the last decade. The game changed the rules because he was too dominant.

Are you saying Babe Ruth doesn't qualify in this thread?

I can. Wilt Chamberlain? Kareem?
With that, I still think Shaq will go down as the most well known LSU alum.

Based on both success in his sport and representation of LSU, Shaq is the only answer.
