all that extra conditioning and getting ready for that tempo seems to have really helped in the other games as well. I think the effect of that type of prep is being way more fit and at the end of games it is really showing.

tempo drill is a permanent addition to our offseason. would not be surprised if other teams adopted it.

We actually did "tempo drill" on my high school team in Tennessee. I was on def and I thought the coach was crazy, until gamedays when we were way better conditioned than anybody. It works

I made this comment to my wife last night watching that FSU vs OU game. I watched football all day yesterday from 11 am to 11 pm, and I can tell you that LSU is the BEST team in the country at countering tempo hurry up offense, and it ain't even close.
I agree. We need to do that every year now. It's also extremely evident how much better and faster our d looks vs the rest of the country. OU looked fast in the 1st half but started to look sluggish in the 3rd quarter. LSU looks consistently fast the entire game.

I'm guessing you didn't get lucky last night...

I have always liked when Teams take the mindset that "we may not be the best team but we will be the fittest/fastest"
This year we are the best team and we are the fittest
This year we are the best team and we are the fittest

LSU has showed up focused and ready to play every game this season so far, which is a definite improvement over years past. Here's to the trend continuing.

I don't know that you get the same level of intensity and focus by practicing "like" we are playing Oregon. I think you have to actually schedule that big-time opponent to start the season to really get the team's attention.

So far I think it has been very helpful for our conditioning so I am all for it.

I think the second half of the Moo St. game proves it's value. We didn't even look winded. Not many teans are expected to have MORE energy in the second half!!!
