The Green Bay Packers? Oh wait. They lost to a 9-7 team at home.

USC? On probation.

Notre Dame? Forget about it.

The only team better than us was Alabama with Lord Saban and this was their year anyway. We beat them at home and got beat in the rematch. Sure, it was a poorly called game, but Miles tried the formula that worked well for him the first time. Unimaginative, but plausible.

I am sick of the negativity. Miles has won like 82% of his games in 7 years. He lost in the BSNCG. We need to cut him some slack and get over ourselves.

Do we really think that no one can possibly just be better than us? I still think that something happened prior to the game. I've been saying that since the game happened. Should Miles have played Lee? Yes. But, it is over. Move on. The man is human, but he has done a great job here.

We are getting far too entitled. That LSU team, minus one game, was one of the best teams I've ever seen. That is because of Miles as well.

I defended Coach Miles and fought the Gumps tooth and nail on the SEC Rant this year. I was ticked off when I would read other SEC coaches and national media spouting off, "Bama will win because of Nick Saban." And yet, there it was, on national televison in front of the entire world, Nick Saban humiliated Les Miles. Actually, Les Miles did it to himself with his refusal to take a chance to win.

Why are you just blaming the local fans? Have you not heard the national media grilling Les Miles in the last 8 days? I'm with you on Miles record to this point, but we lost all of our arguments trying to defend Miles. Jan. 9th was indefensible.

So, this is about you? I see. You're embarrassed. I'm talking about what happens on the field.

Les Miles took his LSU Tigers into Bryant-Denny Stadium in November and gave Saban a stroke. Beat him straight up. Saban returned the favor in the BSNCG. It happens. Sure, Miles should have played Lee. But, Saban was plain stupid to attempt all those long FGs. It happens.

Next year, my money is on Miles and LSU to trash Alabama in Baton Rouge.

Look, I was as disappointed as the next fan. That was not the LSU team I saw play all year that got handled by Alabama. I still believe that something happened before the game. But, even if it didn't, it does not take away from the excellent team that played on the field this year that Les Miles put together. He made an error, I believe, in hitching his wagon to Jordan Jefferson. We all believed that. I was throwing a fit on here after the WKU game. People were blasting me. I was right. But, I still support Les Miles and believe that we will win at least 11 games next year.

I really can't argue with that.

True, and I argued all fall that Miles had outcoached Saban for the last two seasons. But the national perception has never been that way. They blame Bama's loss on the field goal kickers, not the coach that sent them out for impossible (with their talent) kicks. Saban's team lost in November, but not because they didn't try to win. They threw trick plays at us, they let McCarron pass, they just got beat. LSU lost without even fighting back. The coaches just ran the ball and begged for a special teams or defensive touchdown. Embarrassing.

Personally, I don't believe anything happened before the game. I think something happened at halftime. I think the players were fed up with the Miles/Jefferson offense and demanded that LSU try to win the game. It's sad when everyone surrounding the program knew that the offense that Miles was running had no shot in that final game, yet as you stated, "Miles hitched his wagon to Jefferson." Even the players were fed up with it.

Thanks. A Bama fan on the SEC Rant had it and then an LSU fan put it on his. I laughed out loud with tears in my eyes when I saw the LSU fan use it and had to copy him.

Now, I refuse to add 2011. It will just stay at 2009. Yes, I'm mad.

Simple, just add 2011*. If I saw that, I would laugh out loud.

I don't disagree with any of this, except for caring too much about national perception. Miles screwed up with not at least putting Lee in the game here or there. We should have tried something. It was a mistake and one he probably regrets.

That said, we need to keep it in perspective. 13-1 and SEC champs and dominating everyone but Alabama. Most of our key players were sophomores. We will be better next year. Alabama won't be as good. We will live to fight another day.

We just need to calm down and keep this in its proper perspective.

Did Green Bay quit once they fell behind? Did they run it 10 straight times in the 4th?

Besides, like I've said repeatedly. Losses happen. I wasn't stunned we lost to Bama. That shite was completely within the betting possibilities.

shite treatment of a player though should NOT be.

While I am still shocked at what I saw on Jan. 9th, I am 100% certain that come September 2012, I will be fully recharged and ready to go. Just right now, on Jan. 17th, I'm still in depression mode.

Miles problem was not with JJ or Lee. He insisted on running the ball all season long and it was working as long as special team and defense scored, gave LSU good filed position, or changed the momentum of the game. He believed in passing the ball only when LSU had good field position. He was never in a situation without any help from turnovers or special team until the last game which was too late for him to try something else.
