Dumb question. Consider experience.

If it's such a dumb and easy question, consider answering it correctly. Obviously Etling has more experience, yet that does not mean that he could be better maximized. If you want to see who could be better maximized, you have to measure potential. Brennan has that.

Well considering he could have 3 or 4 years with Brennan and only 1 year with etling You would have thing think Brennan

He has Etling for a year and Brennan for 3-4. Is this a serious question?
This year the answer is Et. Career wise the answer is Brennan

Im with you, the kid is a baller and i honestly think that this year he gets a shot. He did great in the tiger bowl and it was said that he was doing good things in practice. Brennan weights 185 pounds so he is going to have to put on some weight before playing QB in the SEC. Im not sure what these people dont understand about Lindsey Scott being a good athlete, accurate passer, smart kid, mobile, and can go through his progression smoothly

It depends on too many things, which is why this is a foolish question.

Is Brennan going to come here still? How long will Canada be here? What type of O will we run? Etc etc etc.

That being said, if he was here for all 4 or 5 of Brennan's years of eligibility, I would say Brennan. If he only stays for one or 2 years, and likes Etling as his starter, obviously I'd go with Etling next year.

Lindsey Scott has the most potential out of any QB on our roster, including Brennan. He's got everything going for him except height.

Next season our 5th year senior Danny Etling will man the ship and then it will be an open competition starting in the 2018 season between Scott (RS So), McMillan (RS So), Brennan (RS Fr), and possibly Narcisse (RS Fr).

Too many ifs. If Narcisse in at LSU, we may forget other QB's on the roster. Or could be Brennan, or Scott, or BH, or DE.

Nobody knows right now but it should be a full competition, not just an incumbent because he played the most the year before.

I really can't understand our fan base's obsession with this kid? He's never played a snap in college and yet some of you are trying to anoint him. I don't get it. He wasn't highly recruited out of high school and truthfully the only reason he got an offer from LSU was because Franks flaked out. And yet, we have Brennan coming in and the kid is highly recruited and by all accounts, has one of the highest ceilings of any recruit that LSU has had come in that i can remember since Periloux. I don't get it. Why the love fest with Scott?

Bingo! It will be a full blown competition in the spring. No one will be handed anything with a brand new OC coming in.

Silly question since MB hasn't come close to playing at the level that exists in the SEC. DE's physical and mental toughness alone keeps him on the field while nobody knows how MB will react to getting slammed by SEC pass rushers all game.

On top of that, DE is very skilled and experienced. He is not just serviceable. Myles Brennan has a lot of work to do before he can truly be compared a guy like Danny Etling.

Try researching Scott's abilities and numbers versus Brennan's. Most agree that if Scott was 6' 3", he would have been much higher rated. At any rate he was 3 star as was Brennan. You can't have seen his video and numbers and still ask that question.

I also see some try to downplay McMillan for some reason (some based on pregame warm ups). His numbers and success in high school says he has talent and should not be overlooked.

I guess it is that QB seems to be the one position at LSU where fans seem to have a preset position on who or what type QB should play. Very few seem to be of the position may the best man win. I would hope the new OC comes in with, unlike many fans, no preconceived notion of who should be the starting QB. It should be an open and fair competition with all hands on deck, including Harris if he doesn't transfer. May the best man win regardless of seniority. And O should leave that decision in the hands of the new OC. Chances are he will make the best choice unfettered by politics or fans favorites.

Your question is rather funny when you question Scott but promote Brennan ignoring the same parameters you set for Scott.

Brennan.

Etling really isn't that good.
