Wouldn't rule out Poche getting the Friday slot. Paul tried this a little last year and is Poche's senior season.

Then again, with Poche better suited to pitch off of short rest, we have 5 series that start on Thursday (4 coming the week after a Friday start the weekend before), so Poche may be the Thursday guy with Lange always pitching in the Friday slot. Only leaves Poche 5 days rest though.

Thursday Friday
Friday Saturday
Lange or Poche'
Could possibly depend on lefty's and righty's in opponests lineup

But, Mainieri doesn't necessarily hold to the old addage of right vs right/ left vs left.

Gonna be fun tho!!

There have been times that I"ve seen that he hasn't.

Now, it could be because we don't have a capable lefty available.

Not saying he never does it but he's been known to go against
the percentages a bit

PM plays lefty/righty more than just about any coach I've ever seen. See pitching Poche in Omaha first game.

I think it's the same to start the season as the last few. Poche on Friday and Lange Saturday. Come SEC time, that may change.

Whats the word on a Sunday guy? I would think PM tried to groom someone for that role so he can move into the Friday spot next year.

He couldn't do it because last year our only lefties were Poche, Latz, and Devall

seems like he's almost OCD about the "matchups".

I hope he gets a consistent starter for the mid week games instead of two or three innings for each guy. The lack of depth on the pitching staff the last couple of years has been aggravating.
