Seemed odd that he would skip the ceremony for his dad.

John Brady wouldn’t allow him to get on the court.

He was sick. As was his Mom. She’d pretty much lost her voice, and dragged herself there. I felt sorry for her - spoiled a big day

My bigger question was where Dale Brown was.

I have not seen Dale Brown all season in his usual seat for games. He was in it for some of the games last season.

He did do a call in interview to Paul Finebaum within the past month or so and did not mention any specific health issues that I recall.

When did he sour on Wade? He seemed to be supportive last year.

Hope Dale’s inexplicable affection for F’King didn’t create that issue. Didn’t realize Dale was that big of a SJW.

Okay. I thought he was a big republican.

I know he hated the NCAA. Thought maybe he and Will could bond over that.

Why? Wasn’t he accused of worse?

And doesn’t he also claim the accusations were b.s.?

Seems more like something to bond over.

Brown is a proverbial Whitened-Sepulcher!

BRCC honored him and WHY? BRCC?

Brown slithers where he wants to go.

Maraviches built the PMAC, not the man who brought LSU its first Major NCAA Sanction: Dandy Dale Brown. Whether Brown knows it or not, he only fooled FOOLS!!

Dale’s later years were a tailspin disaster (with Joe Dean as much to blame as anyone) but he actually brought winning basketball to LSU for the first time in a generation.

Maravich didn’t do that - I don’t mean that as a slight to him at all.

Just what’s been intimated to me by people in a higher spot than me. I bet britgirl could confirm or deny.

He has always been a SJW ever since he appeared at LSU. Vividly remember when Press Maravich got canned and he shows up. He did return winning basketball to LSU, but could never beat Bobby Knight. Knight indicated in an interview way back that one game was winding down and the score was close, but he looked down at the other end of the bench and saw Dale and knew he had nothing to worry about.

Dale seemed to have trouble coaching big time talent when he had it. Shaq, Stanley Roberts, and Chris on the floor and couldn't get past the first or second round of the playoffs. He seemed to have more success with lesser talent. Things started going down when he ran Rick Huckabee off. Rock was actually game planning and coaching during practice but come game time Dale wanted to be the coach.

Dale overstayed his welcome in his latter years. He along with Ron Abernathy and that dumbassed Johnny Jones ran the program into the ground at the end and got us into a shite load of trouble with the NCAA. Then again referring to them as Gestapo Bastards didn't help matters. Ron Abernathy getting caught with over $20k in an attache case in southern Mississippi didn't help. Bastard couldn't even lie good when he got caught. Jones was little more than a bag boy and lackey for Brown. Brown and Collis Temple literally rammer Jones down LSU administration's throats. It didn't work out and he was fired. Brown and Temple wanted to run things from afar and got mad when people at LSU didn't want to listen anymore. Lesson 1, power does corrupt. Lesson 2, getting too full of yourself can be very detrimental. Lesson 3, leave the stage while everyone still loves you.

What a dumb statement. The reason people bitch on here weekly about our basketball atmosphere is because Dale Brown turned LSU's basketball atmosphere into something people can't forget and always compare things to. There was no interest in LSU basketball when Brown got the job.

It was time for him to go when he did, but LSU didn't go to any NCAA tournaments with Pistol even as awesome as he was. LSU hadn't been to the tournament in a quarter of a century until Dale brought them and then eventually went on a streak of 10 in a row. Dale Brown created excitement about LSU's basketball program and about basketball in general across the state of Louisiana. To be honest, no other person has put more into marketing basketball than what Dale Brown did in Louisiana. The fact that LSU still holds 3 of the top 5 regular season attendances of all time (and had the largest basketball attendance pro or college for many years) for games in the Dome in New Orleans pretty much says it all.

Also, Brown spoke glowingly of Wade and said he has it all.
