Husband and I are going to our first LSU bowl game. Where could we pre-game close to NRG?

I second this. Always has a good LSU crowd on gameday and should fit your age range.

Honestly Germans is the only place I'd ever recommend for a Tiger fan.

Check out the bars in Midtown. There's also a tram that runs a block or so away from the bars that will take you straight to the stadium

Papasitis! They make their own Chips and Dip and the Chips are usually still warm. I have not been there in a long time and they used to have a $50 Platter that had all kinds of stuff on it like Shrimp, Chicken, Quail, Pork, etc. Probably more than $50 now.

Though Germans do make some kick arse margaritas.

Heard Germans is announcing its the official pregame tailgate spot for LSU fans.

In fact, it'll be announced during a pre-bowl press conference. Starts at 4:00, naturally.

PS-You wouldn't think a place called Germans would have great margaritas, but it is in Houston so you gotta play to the local market dynamic, I guess.

Papasitos has a good atmosphere but is crappy mass quantity food, better options are Chueys and Ninfas (Chueys far better but Ninfas way over Papasitos in quality). Papas has some very good high end restaurants but this and Papadeauxs are not among them

It's not close. But many LSU fans go to Christians on White Oak.

This was actually a SERIOS thread. Hubby is a rant regular. What part of this should I "ignore?"

I actually though I could get "real" suggestiins from REAL fellow Tiger fans?

Not at all

You will get real answers, you will just have to sift through the bullshite. I can't speak to the area I have only been there once. But their should be some good tailgating going on in the parking lot.
