Did we state that the game could be moved to Baton Rouge? or that we were willing to go to a neutral site?

When this gets cancelled we are not really going to have a leg to stand on.

Student workers etc were told on Tuesday to prepare like this would be a home game. So it has been an open option to move the game here.

can't cancel a conference game. It has to be played. Only matter is when. If not Saturday, then Sunday. If not Sunday, then by God somehow it'll get played Monday. Neither teams' bye weeks match up so they can't play on that.

and LSU isn't going to give up a home game against South Alabama and cancel that contract to leave and go play Florida.

We really don't have any control over this. They already said Tiger Stadium would be made available. LSU can't make UF cancel the game.

This is on UF and the SEC.

Could we have had a game in BR the day after Katrina? 3 days after? If the infrastructure is taxed in Gville as it was in BR, then simply moving the game to Monday might not even be an option.

Just a shitty situation, all around.

Florida doesn't have to listen to LSU. It is their home game.

They do have to listen to the SEC. Where is THEIR leadership?

You absolutely, unequivocally can.

Whether they do or not remains to be seen.

In 2005, Philip Fulmer came out forcefully and state Tennessee would not travel to Baton Rouge before Rita, and the school said they would rather forfeit than place their team in danger. The game was moved to Monday.

That is leadership that is lacking from LSU right now. This is about more than football, it's about basic safety of the team. You have to be willing to forfeit the game.

How does this all work?

Does the SEC have a say, and are they making these calls?

We obviously put our 2 cents in, but do we have any say at all, or is it completely just Florida's decision with no input from LSU or the SEC?

How do you know this is lacking? Are you in the meetings?

Just because our case isn't being made so you can see it on ESPN doesn't mean the case isn't being made.

As much as I dislike Aleva, I am pretty sure he is not at a bar playing darts right now.

Is it possible that we have done the same, just not publicly?

What was the conference's involvement in this, if at all? I can't remember.

Get out of here with that sane logic. Didn't you know that if Joe Alleva doesn't post it here, then he is a spineless dickbag?? The Rant demands answers!!!

It is NOT our leadership, that is LSU's, It is the LACK of Leadership shown by SEC OFFICIALS in allowing this STUPIDITY from the UF officials to go forward.

Like I said in another post, on Wednesday the SEC should have told UF to "move it or lose it", move the game or forfeit. That would have been the only OBJECTIVE, LOGICAL, REASONABLE approach to UF's idiocy.
