No offense against Sage, I know he’s a stud. But you recruited this guy from Clemson who played football at a high clip over there. He was know for playing NB. Why is t he getting a look?

This is the first I've heard that Mike Jones plays Nickle. I believe is a linebacker with excellent coverage skills, not a NB. Definitely not my first choice at NB having to cover slot corners, no offense to the man.

ETA: I guess people downvoting don't know have adequate response or know shite. Link to add that when he transferred out of clemson it was because he wanted to play a linebacker role on the inside per Clemson DC Venables.
"Mike wanted, you know, more opportunity to play inside," defensive coordinator Brent Venables said.
"But I do think he wanted transitionally to maybe play a little bit more inside linebacker and we certainly offered him that opportunity, but, you know, wish him well." LINK

Preseason the guy was reported to be a talented player, but he hasn’t done anything of significance yet even though our D is not very good.

He wants to play MLB. That’s why he transferred.

FYI, he’s horrible at MLB.

He's another evaluation miss by Orgeron and his staff. Add him to the list.

He transferred here specifically to be a middle linebacker. He is better as an OLB. He doesn't play much because he not a very good MLB. At least not yet.

So he excels at being a coverage LB but wants to play inside where he’s not very good? Makes sense.

our current coaches turn 4/5 star athletes into non-existent football players. Their basically being coached down ... pretty F'n sad

Wasn't this guy a starter at Clemson?

It's crazy he can't crack the lineup here.

I bet he regrets transferring. Would have been better off staying at Clemson or going somewhere where he was guaranteed a starting spot

He played in passing situations and sat behind a five star true freshman in running situations. The handwriting was on the wall, and the freshman was passing him up, so he transferred.
