Didn't he have a two year free agent contract? It will be hard to break this line-up if not.

I was just having this discussion about him getting fricked.

ETA Whoever downvoted this is an idiot the kid should have gone first round. If you can't prove that he did this, why the hell would you announce he is a person of intrest to the media a week before the god damn draft? The kid couldn't even defend him self.

I would have sued BRPD for the amount that I missed on in the draft in a defamation law suit.

Of course, La'el will be back in Dallas.

But is there any chance he will return before the end of this season?

It all depends on who Dallas has to pay. If they have the money he stays at Dallas, if not he will be very wealthy at Minn or Seattle but all the teams can use good linemen.

They didn't say that he murdered someone. They said he was a suspect. How do you sue the BRPD for doing that? That's what they do. It was the NFL that told teams not to draft him. The NFL was covering their own arse at the expense of Collins.

He couldn't have sued the BRPD, but I think he could have built a case against the NFL for violation of blacklisting labor laws.

You cannot convince me that a team would pass on taking Collins in the 7th Rd without being coerced by Goddell. There is no doubt in my mind that he issued a blacklist warning against any franchise that took that chance. Collins' non-story would have become the center of media draft coverage, so Goddell halted it before it started.

Collins' attorneys probably considered this, but decided that suing the NFL would only hurt Collins in the long run.

How Mickey Loomis let this guy get out of the state for less than $2M/year is beyond me. One of his biggest blunders.
