their wideouts vs our DB’s
i trust House to scheme well enough to impact Travis, we need a Bama 2022 masterclass from him

By Position Group…
RB, WR Group, DE

But that’s just pre season roster/previous season’s performance basis. Lol

In Game….

Be realistic- WR and probably from the DE position.

I don’t believe they outclass our secondary because they haven’t played as a unit yet
I think our secondary is going to surprise us

Don’t really know yet. Most of the time, the hype is just that - hype.

We’ll see how tough the guys are next Sunday.

WRs vs. secondary.

I think their secondary might be better than ours. They got some 1st round guys in there. DL is up for debate without mason smith. DE who lived in JD's arse last year is back when he could've been a 1st round pick DL.

I think they beat us in several areas. FSU is talented enough to be a playoff team. Travis is better than JD. Whether that remains we'll see.

Not sure about "outclassing". Only spot I can think of that's scary is our secondary vs. their WRs because it's very likely even if our secondary turns out good that chemistry will take awhile to come together.

Maybe WR due to their transfers (that can be unpredictable) and overall experience in the offensive backfield, that’s it IMO. Verse will not have his best performance against Will Cambell.

Nowhere. They are good at WR, QB, DL, and Oline. Their WRs are a concern, particularly because they have a solid QB protected by a good Oline. Their Oline can run block as well, so if they use balanced play calling then their WRs will have opportunities because we will have to honor both run and pass.

It’s much easier for a receiver group to learn to play as a unit than it is for a DB group.

I am personally very worried about our DB’s. Yesterday Brian Kelly was talking about how well Sage Ryan plays the nickel position but we might be trotting him out there at CB instead because that’s how thin we are at that position.

I think it's going to be a close game and FSU has significant talent. That being said I look back at last year's game and we lost by a missed extra point.
At the time FSU was a stable program with a returning QB, staff and a tune up game. LSU had almost an entirely new staff (Davis returned), transfers everywhere including the QB, FR starting at both OTs and TE and a coach that did not know how to coach ST.

2 muffed punts, 2 missed blocking assignment missed kicks (FG, PAT) and a WR1 that was either checked out or still hurt and LSU loses by 1.

It just seems that compared to last season's game FSU comes in slightly better, but LSU will be significantly better than they were game 1. The secondary vs FSU's WRs is concerning, but as a whole I like LSU to win it in the 4th.

im a little concerned about our secondary. They are returning a pretty solid QB who put up a lot of yards last year and their number 1 receiver. Our DB's could be fine, just an unknown right now.

This. This. 1000x THIS.
A little improvement vs. SIGNIFICANT improvement in a 1 point game.

WR

Johnny Wilson 6'7 237lbs
Keon Coleman 6'4 215lbs

The only WRs under 6'2 and 200lbs are the slot guys. Every boundary WR is bigger than 6'2 and 200lbs+

Our DBs are going to have to work.

It won't be in having already played a game before they meet. LSU wins this one by a lot, probably 5.

Our WR are a better group. But their secondary are a better group. I would say it is a wash.

#5 killed is last year. That being said after a slow start I think Campbell held his own and they moved him around after that. I think he gets neutralized this year. We have a better O line. That’s not close.

I think the difference this year is we get them off the field on 3rd down. We will tackle better and not let the QB make big plays on 3rd.
