JJ and no resent qb's to my memory fit the bill of winning the qb position outright as a true freshman. Redshirting... taking over after an injury does not = winning the starting position outright!

Tommy Hodson would have started as true freshman if not injured while lifting weights. He started as RS Freshman. One of the most underrated Tigers of all time and one of the nicest guys I've ever had the pleasure to sit and talk wit. True Tiger through and through.

Believe Hodson's began LSU career in 1985. so you may be correct, but would have given Jeff a great run. Believe Wickersham was 1985-19876.
