For me, I had the "ah ha" moment after certain games.

2003- Georgia game
2007- total domination of Virginia Tech
2011- watching our D against Oregon

Run defense against Wisconsin will tell me a lot about how the DTs will play this season.

You know there will be lots of analyzing the first Big Cat on the rant. I can see it now..."Quinn got blowed up on Big Cat today, no way he'll ever be more than a slot receiver"

If we lose Week 1, it will be bumpy.

If we can beat AU/UF back to back on the road, it could be special.

The only possible answer to this question.

The first game will tell you, is he going to play it safe like he always does, or he is going to go for it?

We will know after the first game if we have a winning QB. Without a QB, ther is little hope for a successful season.

For me:
- Show that we have enough passing to keep teams honest on D.
- Strong-to-dominant play up the middle on D (from DL-to-S)

When I see those, I'll be confident that '14 could be a special season.

I'd say that's a pretty solid/reasonable assessment. In game one, if a traditionally between the tackles "Bucky" (rolls eyes) can't run AT ALL, I'll be happy.

If, in game one, whoever our thrower turns out to be can go, say 9/15, with a long of 40 that traveled 25+ yards in the air, I'll like what I'm seeing.

I think if the above two things happen, it also means LSU pounds out about 300 on 50 carries.

This Wisconsin game will be the indicator. If we win by playing well, it will be special. If we lose or win really ugly, it's going to be an exciting, but bumpy ride.

One thats being overlooked in this category is the Miss State game.

This is the game that we will start to find out just how talented the Younger guys are. Wisconsin will be a grind and The 2 cupcakes will give them a bit of experience. If LF, Dupre, and Quinn are all playing well and we have at least one guy step up on the interior Dline by Miss State this season could turn out to be a pretty good one.

We should be able to run the ball against Wisconsin with relative ease. If'n that doesn't happen, I'll worry a bit.

We're in such a perfect spot. It's going to be a special year for our program. Really believe that.

What utter nonsense.

We'll run with ease against Wisconsin? They'll stack the box and make our young QBs and WRs beat them through the air. No matter how good your line and RBs are, if they put 9 in the box, it's tough to run.

And you think we're in a "perfect spot." Take off the P&G glasses. We're breaking in a new QB, new WRs, our DL was awful last year (and we have new guys there) and our LBs were average. And our schedule ain't friendly. Far from perfect.

If we squeak by wisconsin, its gonna be bumpy..that means we squeak by or lose to either or multiple arky, MSU, ole piss, florida, a&m........we squeaked by shitty florida and arky teams last year and lost to an undermanned ole piss team and our offense was way way better last year than it most likely will be this year.

Having said that if we blow wisconsin out, then maybe Cam worked some magic witht those young QBs and WRs, but there is zero precendence for that.

Something tells me we won't be blowing out Wisconsin though...hell we didn't blow out a shitty Iowa team with the same QB and better WRs.

Defensively, if we do not start the way we did last year. If you go back a watch the first few games, up to the MS State game, we couldn't stop the run or pass - it was so obvious and uncharacteristic. If our D-Line performs like that out of the hole, we're in for a long year...

The D will be MUCH better against the pass. Even in limited time last year it was obvious that White and Robinson >>>>>>>>>>> mills and Collins at the corner. The DE's will be better and the LB's have the potential to be better as a whole. The big question in the DT's. If LSU doesn't have at least one guy stuffing the middle it's going to be a tough year. Teams will 5 yard them to death and that, inevitably, leads to a couple big plays off PA.
