Offense didn't have any trouble whatsoever in 2008 fwiw. This is the 2nd year of having a poor offense.

Didn't they average like 31 points per game? Doesn't sound like trouble to me. Defense was the issue in 2008.

Look at the stats. We moved the ball fine. We committed turnovers, but we did move the ball.

Defense couldn't stop the 3rd grade team at U-High that year.

Numerous turnovers which lead directly to points counts as trouble on offense.

My mistake, looking at the 2 span, when has LSU last has this much trouble on offense?

It was still the defense. We couldn't stop anybody. Pick 6's sucked but we could run, pass, and score TD's pretty easily.

Well, we were pretty awful from 1992 to 1994, until we signed some kid from Carencro who brought back the magic and Faulked up the SEC.

We've got this amazing Heisman worthy spark plug right now that has asked the coach multiple times if he can play some offense but now that the coach has agreed to let him play some offense we've got douchebags deriding him for even thinking of allowing him to play offense.

Of course, the assholes on the Rant will tell you that the only spark for our offense is some combination of 1) Start Lee 2) Fire Crowton and/or 3) Fire Miles. Or just boo louder. Surely booing louder will solve all our problems.

I am sure there was a two year period at some point where the offense was much worse than it is now.

Late in the season (that year) teams started to find a way to shut us down.

It started with Troy (1st half)

Then Ole Miss (whole game).

Then Arky (in the 2nd half)

GT would not probably be a good example here, but you could argue that our struggles began at that point.

All teams had to do back then was shut down our running game and we were a team that could be easily beat, especially with our defense being shitty back then.

OM was a good example of that.

We had our worst rushing performance against them. I think some of our O Line were not 100% at the time, but, we flat out could not create holes for our RBs.

31 ppg average.. i don't care if you throw a pick 6 per game, if your defense isn't shite you win 10 games.

We averaged 25 ppg last year. Thats basically 31 minus a pick 6 right?

That number is skewed a bit.

We were in situations where we had big deficits, and we couldn't overcome them all. Opposing defenses didn't have play us as hard as they had if they felt they have the game won.

And the record reflected that because of the improved defense Last years team just didn't know how to finish a game, they lead every single game except for UF. If we can get Lee in there and he can duplicate his 2008 offensive results, we'll be in the SECCG (as long as he doesn't duplicate his Bama performance )
