Adds to the depression with his voice and tone. Sometimes I can't handle his half empty view.

Should he be happy when we're losing?

I understand what you mean, he makes the rough times rougher with the exaggerated depression tone and attitude. Listening to it is like what I believe it would be like to watch a game with the worst posters on any of the TD Score Boards.

He should hold it together a little better than the average fan, IMO.

I think he does. Just because he has a "sad" tone to his voice doesn't mean he isn't holding it together. The average fan is probably cussing Bo Spencer and slamming a hand on the empty seat on either side of him/her when Storm Warren fouls someone.

Surely he is close to retirement. His attitude is a problem.

Jim Hawthorne is the voice of LSU sports.

He is overly negative sometimes. I can't stand Doug the guy who does football with him.

He's damn hard to handle when we're winning. Pathetic lack of ability to clearly communicate to his listening audience.

you forgot PA's in other sports.

The guy who lisps his way through women's hoops and women's softball needs replacing.

I've had to listen to Jim lots over the years. Always seem to do ok. No problems with him.

For those who dislike him, who do you think is realy excelling at PBP? Who's better than Hawthorne and how so?
