Jordan Jefferson has a proven record of being on good terms with the players. He should be given a shot.

OR, give Jim Hawthorne the job. If he's as good at coaching as he is at announcing, LSU football will be having winning seasons and going to bowl games for long years to come.

I don't think you could go wrong with these options.

I'd say my serious short list would be

Gary Patterson
Pat Fitzgerald
Chris Petersen (contingent on retaining Chavis)
Jimbo Fisher (keep Chavis)
Mike Gundy (keep Chavis)
David Shaw (keep Chavis)

guys that may be good but we need to see more from:
Bill O'Brien
Charlie Strong
James Franklin
Bronco Mendenhall (probably unpopular...)

Shy Carey with Hal Hunter as OC/OL/BBQ and Pete Rich as the ornery old DC... like a black Joe Kines

with the white Joe Kines as AD

but the bolded + O'Brien would make my list. the local sports talk guys raved about O'Brien from his time here at GT. looks like they were right.

Why don't you use your own crystal ball to tell you who will be coaching at that time?

Stfu!! The only thing Les does which makes him a "good coach" is hire an awesome surrounding cast.

I would not want Jimbo. Not impressive at FSU and was not impressive as an OC. He's probably best as simply a QB coach.

GRUDEN 2018

Here's the 2018 staff under Gruden.

Mack Brown as OC. Alan Risher as QB coach. (He sounds like he knows what he's talking about on the radio with Hanagriff) Gerry DiNardo as OL coach. Jerry Sullivan as WR coach. (Was actually a very good WR coach) Steve Ensminger as TE coach and BBQ manager. Bill Arnsparger as DC. Ed Cullen as DL coach. Lou Tepper as LB coach. Curley Hallman as DB coach. Mike Archer can come in and coach Special Teams.
