If their HC is the same guy, and reading "Sim", for Simoneaux I think, he's a former ULLLL assistant coach who hated Skip and LSU. He openly bragged that he gave an indepth scouting report to Texas before LSU played the horns one yr. He was part of the ugliness that happened between the 2 teams, leading Skip to stop playing ULLLL for those yrs. He really had it in for Skip. No surprise that he'd want nothing to do with LSU.

Skip got mad when Tech fired his buddy Randy Davis and Skip wanted to help out his buddy Smoke when he was at ULM and the trend has continued.

I lived in Ruston for 8 years and it is true. Yes theres just as much LSU apparal.... But that town HATES LSU. It's ridiculous. Never understood it. I got ragged on for being an LSU fan ALL the time when i lived there.

Having lived in Ruston for a few years, I can say first hand this is far, far from the truth. There are some LSU haters, but the people pulling for LSU far outnumber the haters

Before the Skip era, we were the equivalent of their mid-week opponent. They were pretty good. We were pretty meh.

I had dinner last week with some friends and we ran into Tucker Ward. He is a mid week pitcher for La Tech. I asked him why they did not play us and he said something about how LSU would not honor a home/home series a few years ago. So their coach has beef against LSU. He was actually glad that they didn't play LSU. Said they sucked bad

I have family in Ruston who graduated from Tech and are now LSU season ticket holders. They'll drive four hours to an LSU game but won't drive across town to a Tech game. This is the kind of thing that chaps die hard Tech partisans. There are a lot of LSU fans in Ruston, and it grinds on the true blue Tech people.

Before the Skip era NO ONE gave a flying rats arse about college baseball. In other words, no one gave a shite about La Tech or its baseball program. Come to think of it, no one gives a shite now about Tech, in any sport.

not really, people tend to glorify what's important to them, lots of people could give two shits about LSU baseball now, but the facts are that Tech went to the NCAA baseball tournament five or six times in the 70's-80's, whereas LSU had been once in our entire history('75,) pre-Skip, and I believe they won a couple of football NC's in the 70's as well, not bad for a tiny little school of about 6-7 thousand(back then)

I remember back around 1992, La.Tech came to Alex Box, and two of their pitchers were mouthing off to a couple of LSU fans. One pitcher told the fan to go frick his brother in the arse. Word came out that they had some incidents with the Bulldogs that were not being addressed by the coaching staff. True story. I will not release the name of the pitchers involved.

Have a family member who played for La. Tech a while back, he said basically the first thing out of Simoneaux's mouth was "what a moron skip was". Jealousy is a bitch.

You guys kill me with all the bullshite stories about how Tech fans hate LSU. I lived in Ruston for a long time and almost all Tech fans/grads love both schools. All of this "i have a friend who said..." bullshite needs to stay off of this forum because it just stirs things up. LaTech is probably LSU's biggest ally.

Simoneaux applied to be an assistant coach under Skip and Skip hired someone else.
