Obviously it already did in basketball. Doesn't seem like it's hurt recruiting in any sport yet.

Not sure if it's a factor in attendance but it's not helpful.

If LSU didn't do anything when a basketball player got murdered I don't see why people think they're going to do anything now.

If the people don’t want to be safe, and vote accordingly, why why is it an LSU problem?

I mean it was clear as day self defense. Nothing to really blink at.

Baton Rouge is a democratic city that is also the Capitol of the state. LSU is located there. This is different than smaller college towns. LSU can't really do much about the crime in the city. Now will other schools use that negatively in recruiting? Who knows. My kids have grown up with LSU sports and love the Tigers, but they have decided not to attend LSU. The crime has gotten too bad. That young lady that was murdered was a friend of my son. That was the last straw for him. LSU may start losing students but that won't hurt them until it's a 5 star athlete.

Kinda hard to use it negative in recruiting when the majority of major universities are located in shite holes themselves with some obvious exceptions.

A top recruit from NOLA, Dallas, Houston, DC, Miami, etc, or even a rough part of Aberdeen, MS, isn't afraid of Baton Rouge.

Losing (not loosing) many top normal students from small towns in LA absolutely does hurt, though.

Crime is up in Tuscaloosa, Auburn, Athens, GA, Knoxville, Columbia, SC, etc. This is a national trend.

Our peer group also includes places like College Station, Oxford, Starkville, Athens, Gainesville, Fayetteville. IDK what their violent crime rates are but would be surprised if it's anywhere BR's.
