Rohan Davey and JaMarcus Russell are the only 2 3,000+ yard passers in LSU history. When do we see it again? How sad is it that Aaron Murray has more 3,000+ passing seasons than every LSU QB in history?

2013. Mett was less than 400 yards away last year.

I certainly hope we have one soon. Probably one of the new signees. But it's worth noting that none of the people you mentioned won a national championship.

if our WRs could have caught the ball early last year, Mett would have flirted with it.

He's got a shot this season.

Only when Miles can convert one of LSU's quality baseball players to come play QB and save the program.

Mett only needs to avg 30 more yard per game to break 3000. Seems doable.

I think Mett has a shot this season especially if our young receivers can step up.

Matt Mauck was 78 yards short in 2003 and Flynn was 378 yards short in 2007. And, both Mauck and Flynn played 1 more game than both Davey and Russell in those seasons.

well Flynn missed 2 games due to injury in 2007, so he easily could have accomplished it if healthy

Edit: Flynn was about 600 yards short in 2007

you're right, i screwed up and was looking at total yards. Mauck was 175 yards short passing.

Not trying to create trouble, but you do remember we just had a QB with a great won/loss record very recently, that struggled with throwing the ball (and shall remain nameless).
While it tended to devolve into attitude comments (and hidden pictures of the coach ), I think had the guy been able to pass the ball for a lot more yards, most of the hostility would have been avoided.

honestly, i'd take the hostility if it led to National Championships. and, crazy as it sounds, we were real close. If ESPN doesn't pump up Bama, we probably beat OSU for the NC in 2011.

I hated watching JJ play. And, I'd hate watching another player struggle like that. But, if we won a NC with that type of play, I'd be more than ecstatic.

2013! I'm confident Mett will improve and he has the weapons to help him accomplish those expectations.
