What's up with the Hate for Alleva on this Board?

See lots of comments that Alleva is a terrible AD but I'm not seeing any evidence to back that up... he has helped renovate our Facilities, including Tiger Stadium with interior renovations on the way. He tried to fire Les last November until the F King fiasco. Florida chickened out of it, and he has called them out and is assuring us of a home game Nov. 19 barring the SEC steps in and says otherwise. I just don't understand..maybe I'm missing something? He's not a Slam Dunk AD but he's not as bad as this board sometimes makes him out to be.

He's getting better and learning, you have to give him that. But on the other side, many of the situations LSU has been in since trying to fire Miles last year could have been avoided with strong leadership skills.

I don't think he's gotten much lately. He's been on point.

He's got a chance to redeem himself with a homerun hire for the football program.

Exactly! Many people think he can wave a wand because he's at LSU and dictate things like TV times, sec/ncaa issues, etc.
Guess they just don't understand how the real world works

Every AD since the beginning of time has been "hated on" during his tenure.

It is just part of the job.

Hell, even Bertman wasn't immune and that dude is an LSU hero / legend.

This could have been handled better, but...there were so many (dumb, misguided) fans who could not see that Miles was a disaster. He couldn't figure out how to deal with the media, who for the most part, supported Miles and half the fan base loved Miles.
Overall, I think Alleva is doing alright.

The hate is dumb. He tried to fire Miles at the right time last year but got blocked then he took care of business as fast as possible this year. It takes a lot of balls to fire a coach like Miles just four games into the season. A lot of ADs would have waited until the end of the season.

I think his approval rating has increased a good bit this fall. Hope he keeps that momentum going with the coaching hire.

many seemed to have their minds made up about Joe from the moment he was hired because of the Duke scandal

My only issues with him would be:
-Extending Miles when he pretended to flirt with Arkansas.
-Not canning Johnny Jones last year.

The Caldwell hiring looks terrible now, but everyone thought it was a huge hire then. Plus, its women's hoops so I don't really care.

I've been tough on him but I applaud the job he has done recently. He's made some tough decisions and he's shown some balls during this Florida debacle.

"He's the hero LSU deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him. Because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight."

That's what this board is for and that's what makes it great. Doesn't matter who it is, everyone associated with LSU athletics gets hated on at some point in time on this board.

Duke. Rape. Ruined lives. A crooked DA and an Ath Director who bought into the PC media witch hunt.

This. A lot of people think he should just go out and publicly rip the shite out of everyone that crosses him, and it just doesn't work that way. This isn't the movies. You can't burn bridges with people you have to deal with year round.
