In two wide sets I assume Dural and Dupre get the nod?

Who takes over in the slot?

Dural Jr.
Dupre So.
Diarse So.
Chark So.
Quinn So.
Johnson Fr.
Spears So.

We have so much depth but I hope someone can stand above the rest and be that dominant #1. Hopefully dupree.

I don't ascribe to the notion that if you aren't in the X or the Z you're not a "featured" WR. If the team heavily utilizes the slot, I think that can have as big or an even bigger impact on the game than your traditional WR spots.

So I'd love to see Chi thrive in the slot.

All that said, in no particular order the most used WRs on the team look to be Chi, Chark and Dural with the remaining guys and TEs sprinkled in.

Height of slot guys is often a function of them not being "big enough" to play outside and jockey for position on long balls with big DBs and corners who can jump. Being under 6' isn't requisite for the position.

Also, a guy who is as tall as Dupre, but still has the quick cuts and moves of a slot creates HUGE matchup problems for LBers and nickel backs in zone coverage.

not saying it is, but he's 6'4" and we need him on the outside. You don't see 6'4" guys play the slot often, if at all.

Dupre played in the slot a good bit in the spring game.

Depth is not a problem since they have little impact on the game in the first place.

If Chark and Dural do well in the X and Z, I don't see lining Chi up in the slot as an issue. Like I said, the matchup will be problematic to say the least for a lot of teams.

Obviously if we need him on the outside, play him there. But we've got too many talented skill guys not to get them all on the field whenever possible.

Dural
Dupre
Chark
Johnson
Quinn
Diarse
Spears
Quinn and Diarse could be either way that's how it was set up, besides Johnson being there, at the spring game Dural and chark playing X, Z and Dupre playing slot

Apparently you don't watch football anymore. To tall is not a thing. Mis match is name of game.

I hope we got 4 and 5 wide more than a few times a game. Nobody in NCAA has as many athletes at wr as we do this year

I think this group of WR and TE has as much talent and depth as we've possibly ever had.

I despise seeing Chi in the slot. It tells us that he can't beat coverage by the CB. I'm not sold on Chark outside either. Having Dural and Chi outside is most preferable with a rotation of Diarse, Quinn, Jackson, Johnson, etc.

Chi is gonna play the slot because it provides a mismatch and allows him to be more dangerous, not because he can't beat a corner.

Dural and Dupre will most likely have spots locked down. Quinn, Diarse, Johnson, and Chark fighting for the next two spots. Don't forget about Desean Smith at TE.

I remember hearing that he was going to play the slot/outside. Don't really see a problem with it. A big target in the slot will be a good tool for two QB's who have struggled.
