WRONG

we DID NOT rush against Moo U. They are not worthy

Only Tennessee and Bama in 2000

We also rushed the field against Auburn in 2001 after winning the west and of course back in 1997 when we beat Uf at home.

Tennessee because it was Tennessee and we were terrible the year before and it was overtime. Eta: we had just lost to uab.

State because they were decent, just went 10-2, and it was overtime.

Bama because we hadn't beat them in tiger stadium since 1969.

My mind is blown after reading this. I remember Tennessee and Alabama.......but MISSISSIPPI STATE!!!! Wow.....

It was less about Miss St and more about just tearing down the goalpost.

I think everyone that year was doing it.

My dad got me sideline passes for the Mississippi State game. One of the best experiences I had as a kid. Was actually sitting on the bench during the game

I saw none. I was there. and if so,it was not even noticeable and I would not even consider that rushing the field like we had against UF, Tenn, Bama and Auburn in the years i listed.

as a matter of fact i am going to go back and watch that game today. I have it on DVD.

Great Story with the 2000 Bama game. I look at my girlfriend (now wife of 10 years) and explain to her babe you can do 1 of 2 things.

1. You can make your way back to the tailgating area.
or
2. You can charge the field with me.

Needless to say she charged the field because she felt she would have gotten lost trying to find her way back to tailgating.

In my freezer still from that game I have a chunk of the purple endzone from the South Endzone in a Ziploc bag with the date and score on it.

suprisingly, it is still purple.

My big brother was on the front page of The Advocate (not sports section, but front page) all by his lonesome straddling a goal post with the sub-title "Fans Straddle Goal Post"

It's still framed in his room.

Those were truly fun times to be an LSU fan.

True, but not so much for the visits to AU and UF that year (2000); were total clusters!

This is what I remember too.

By the time we got to the second or third time, LSU folks had learned to coat the goal posts with Vaseline. I remember trying like hell to hang on to the crossbar but sliding off.
