He's an 18 year-old kid. If I did say anything I would just say "You pitched a good game" and leave it at that.

I'd ask him if he got to pitch in that 25-inning game.

I'd shake his hand and congratulate him on a great postseason. I think his team earned that much.

probably nothing unless he was between me and an $8 dollar beer. Otherwise, i would not recognize the kid.

i would honestly probably say "sit down bitch" in a joking way. not serious tho and tell him just kidding and tell him he played a good game.

I would have said "Good job out there, hopefully we will see you next year".

He's a kid with a bright future. No use in being an a-hole especially with purple and gold on.

You tell him "Great series and Texas was a the best match-up of the CWS". All the shite talk is not necessary as it is implied.

knowledgeable UT fans will admit that he was only so-so before it, too. That was his one shining moment (cue up the Final 4 music)...

What would you say to Austin Wood if you saw him last night?
I was at a Texas Rangers game on Friday and I saw Austin Wood and a UT buddy of his hanging out. It was definitely Wood.

I was wearing my LSU basebal hat and I thought about all of the bad comments that Texas fans had about LSU fans, and how classless we are, so I decided to take the high road. I was close enough to him to shake his hand and looked at Wood right in the face and just said, "what's up." He looked at me, then my hat and looked down as if to say, "I could have gone all day without seeing another LSU person."

My question is what would YOU say to Austin Wood if you saw him in public like that? Not what you would LIKE to say, but what you would actually say?
I don't think you did, or intended to do, anything wrong. I would have followed up with something positive about the Texas team. I think you missed an opportunity to make someone feel a little better about a disapointment in his life, that is very fresh. But, no one says the "right thing" all the time. Certainly not me.
