do people not understand that most of the drunks in the stadium are the ones that pounded multiple beers or drinks or shots right before they get into the game. this would be almost non existent if you could drink in the stadium.

100 bad for any good. lots of fights and lots of rude behavior.
The "rude behavior drunks" will get their alcohol regardless. By selling it, your opening up the clientele to those who do follow the rules.

So instead of sneaking in a flask with 1-2 drinks, i can down beers like mad? the less smuggled in booze doesn't apply.
When I used to partake in the student section, everyone I knew had each pocket with a flask in it. Not counting the cargo shorts folk.

IMO, they have the perfect situation right now.
They don't sell alcohol because they would be responsible for a lot more shite, however; they turn a blind eye to a lot of drinking in TS during the game. Right now its a win-win situation.

Except for the fact that they don't profit from it at all, but still have to deal with the security of people being intoxicated, just slap a disclaimer on the concession counter and you're good to go

Obviously the good would be the amount of money the school could make. Maybe solve some of our budget issues. You figure if half of the 90,000 fans buy just one lets say $8 beer that's over $350,000 in beer sales. Then lets say 30,000 buy 2, thats another $240,000. Then if lets say 20,000 buy 3, thats another $160,000 for a grand total of $750,000.00 in beer sales for the game. I'm not all that knowledgeable on the cost of selling beer, but you figure thats got to be at least a half million in profits per game times 6 games =$3,000,000 per year. Make alcohol sales go straight to the school and you greatly help out the school's budget.
The bad would be the novelty of it at first and you would see a lot of excessive drinking. Eventually I think it would result in less binge drinking before the game and an overall better experience.

As for the "irresponsible fans" argument, I believe that currently there are stadiums (maybe even West Virginia?) where alcohol sales are allowed, and the student section is partitioned from the rest of the stadium.
Also, wasn't it once against NCAA rules for college venues to sell alcohol? I swear I remember this being an issue, which is why I always loved the SECCG and bowl games at pro stadiums. Is this no longer a rule?

I fully support selling beer in the stadium. Prices would be high enough to encourage sipping more than guzzling while they can still shut off sales in the 4th qtr.
Wish they would start this next year.

i dont think if tiger stadium started selling beer that all of sudden its gonna be royal rumble in the stands. i think selling beer at $8 each, causes more responsible drinking and like others have said, there will be less hard alcohol consumed. plus the school would make bank.
