We've been very fortunate that we have not had to deal with crappy football very much lately, but what was your least favorite season so far this century? Even though I feel like it should be a toss up between 2008 or 2014, I absolutely hated the 2016 season. The first four games were miserable to sit through. Without Tre White returning a pick 6 and forcing a fumble on the next drive we likely get shut out by Wisconsin. Then we follow that up with a craptastic performance against Jacksonville State and nearly blow a 20 point lead to Moo State. The next week we lose to Auburn who kicked 6 FGs and no TDs. Additionally, we get shut out at home by Bama and lose to Florida in the overall strangest football game I've ever attended. That team had all the talent in the world and underachieved so much which is why that season was my least favorite in recent memory. I will say though that kicking Lamar Jackson's arse in the Citrus Bowl was very entertaining.

With all that talent 2016 was terrible the 1st 4 weeks. Then O took over and the offense and the team just had a different spark to them. It ended up being fun to watch.

Revisionist history

Offense didn’t get much better in latter half of 2016

Shut out by Bama, horrible vs Florida, etc

It did. In our first four games, LSU's offense produced 339 yrds/game. This includes games against Jacksonville State and Mississippi State, not exactly sterling competition.

After Les was fired, the offense produced 464 yrds/game, getting over 600 yards twice. Les's offense didn't even break 400 versus JSU. Even against Florida, we had 423 yrds/game. We definitely did poorly against Bama though.

The playcalling with Engsminger was way better than Cameron.

You must not have been watching. We set records later in the year. I don’t care who it was against. It was FUN to watch................. that’s my whole point. Instead of being bored with three yards and wishful thinking, we actually had a pulse on offense. BTW you really think we score if Miles was still the HC against Bama??????????

2009 was very lame.

Had a Charles Scott run from 50 yds out to beat UGA.

Florida game had hype, and we scored 3 pts.

That’s kinda it for the season.

2008 season is my least favorite: first, Andrew Hatch was our starting quarterback to start the season; second, I was deployed to Iraq for almost the entire season, and the one game I did get to go to was the 10:00 AM App St. game; third, we sucked, and because we sucked Jordan Jefferson became our QB and Jarrett Lee became a headcase...throw in the Ryan Perilloux crap to start the season and 2008 becomes the least favorite year of the 21st century

SMH.

In 2016 LSu had NFL talent all over it and lost at home to Florida as a 13 point favorite. That disappointing loss only cost LSu the Sugar Bowl. The coach lost that game and ruined a successful season for that great team that had guys come back instead of going pro.
LSU hadnt had any success running left the entire game and the last two plays are called running left at the goal line? WTF. One run was to the freaking fullback when you have Guice in the backfield with the game on the line? Guice even goes the wrong way after a freaking timeout. If Miles had done any of that.......
But you bring up 2016 to praise Coach O and take a shot at Miles?

This was the weakest schedule in 15 years and O goes 6-2 and 4-2.

Do you still think the Bengals shouldnt have taken Burrow? Come on Pluto!

2008, but I wasn't expecting an SEC Championship or anything.

2015 and 2016 were the 2 biggest disappointments.
I thought that the schedule set up better in 2015, but 2016 was more talented.

Sitting in a half empty Tiger Stadium getting blown out by Georgia and Ole miss was miserable.

Losing to 4-7 arkansas in the final seconds was the cherry on top.

2016. We had talent to be a playoff team. I believed the offseason talk of us changing our offense and Harris progressing a ton. I was in absolute disbelief when we lost to Wisconsin.

Was O’s staff supposed to completely reinstall the offense in the middle of the season or something? I know that seems possible in whacko HailHailToMichigan Tigerdroppingsworld, but that isn’t how football works.

The offense looked completely different from a playcalling standpoint and it was statistically much better across the board. The issue is that we were still running Miles’ shite, archaic playbook that Alabama had shut down for 6 years straight.

I tell you what, that Wisconsin game was the worst football game I have ever been to. I remember hearing cam cameron and Les all off season saying how the offense was changing. We threw the ball the first three plays, and didn't do jack after that. I was dumb founded. I felt personally lied to hahahaha.

That trip though was amazing, Milwaukee is a very underrated city.

2011 still just kills my soul, The D was from another planet, Alabama game(in Tuscaloosa) was so intense. Then the tragedy to Oklahoma St that basically fielded a loss with heavy hearts . We are going to have to play Alabama again, it isn’t fair I thought and knew with Saban having a month to get ready, things definitely are not going to be the same but at least it’s in the SuperDome and we got the best or one of the best defenses of all time. I just couldn’t believe a Coach making 4mill a year with that type of talent could just come to a game of this magnitude with the SAME GAME PLAN against the GOAT of college Coaches. It still puts a bitter bitter taste in my mouth. Thank GOD for this past year, and Coach O, and the rest of 2019 NATIONAL CHAMPIONS for freeing my soul!

What did Miles do the 1st four games??????? He lost two of them they should have won. Plus they were terrible to watch that much talent go to waste. Sure O didn’t do that well against Bama. But so what. It was actually fun to watch LSU football again after Miles was gone.
