Does JJ not know the playbook, or is our coaching staff confused?

Taking too long to get the play changes from the booth out onto the field after the D shows formation...there was one play where it appeared they changed it 3 times. Coaching....

Coaching. Why does the QB go under center, then back off and look at the sidelines for 15 seconds waiting for the play, then waste another 10 seconds directing the players waiting on the line???? What do they talk about in the huddle??

One was close and the ref didn't throw the flag until LSU made the first down.

i really hate that shite...it really keeps a lesser opponent in the game when our totally inept offense shows the other team how fricking confused we are.

Our offense looks like last years defense with players looking over to the sidelines in confusion on many plays.

If there is one aspect of the offense that really bothers me, it's the changing of the play (or the "look-over") on every single play. Why is this needed? Don't get me wrong, I know the reason for it. But if we're so talented on offense, then run the damn play that's called and let our better talent out play the defense. This coaching staff has JJ and the rest of the offense thinking about too much instead of just letting them play the game. It's virtually impossible to get into a rhythm on this offense.

It was a problem in the booth.

MSU's facilities for the opposing coaches use a telephone system that is set up like a party-line. My guess is that with all the weather problems, the guys over at the milking barn were trying to talk with the guys over in the animal psychology department discussing a problem with the cows not putting out enough milk. Consequently, our coaches kept having to wait for the party-line to free-up.

it is clear that JJ doesnt have a good handle on the O and they are trying to keep it simple for him. At some point you need to let him go.

Don't forget how costly it's become. On the drive before the goal-line stand, we converted a 3rd and 8, only to have it come back because of a stupid a delay-of-game penalty. We could have run out the clock and saved a lot of drama.

Of course, if we take botched punts through the end zone, that saves 5 points, if we manage the kciking game, that's another 4, so it's not the only problem. Still, after 4 games we should be cutting way down on the mistakes. I hate that Crowton can't call a play, line the boys up and run it. It's really frustrating.

All offenses do it. I thought thats what a audible is. You get up to the line, call off the play you called in the huddle, and call a different one. I guess QB's don't understand defenses yet like they used too when I was growing up. You send the play in by the receiver and thats it unless the QB changes the play at the line of scrimmage. And the cheat sheet on the wrist of the QB, WTF. Why doesn't every player on offense have one. Too much info I guess.

this has been a consistent problem for the last 4 seasons and 4 games.

our coaching staff has consistently failed to take necessary remedial action.

this is a coaching issue which has existed regardless of starting qb and offensive coordinator for 4 seasons and 4 games. the only constant: les miles.

my guess, based solely upon rumors regarding the frustrations of Jimbo and Coach Crowton, is that the play called from upstairs is not always the play that gets to the QB. there is something in between the booth and the field that is slowing things up, creating confusion or changing the play...whatever that is in the middle needs to step aside and let the OC do the job he was hired to do...
