In 1968, following many protests concerning the "two year mandatory ROTC for all male students" policy, the ROTC building just south of the stadium mysteriously burned down. Shortly thereafter, LSU rescinded this over-100 year policy. I was a sophomore that year. (Yes, I am an old fart.)

Did undergrad and grad school back to back and was there between 98 and 05. So I was there during the football turnaround, which was not a single event, but great to be a student during. Had a baseball NC in undergrad and a football NC in grad school. Both were awesome .

But the best was Auburn game in 2001 (my "first" senior year).
The game was postponed to Dec due to Sept. 11. They played "God Bless America" during a break and the entire student section sang in unison. Yes I was drunk as were all of us but we all had tears in our eyes. Will not forget this the rest of my life.

Then we win to win the SEC West and stormed the field for these the second week in a row. That was awesome but the patriotism of LSU students at the time was overwhelming.

2003 UGA games...both of them.

Despite all the awesome things that have happened in LSU football since then, the happiest football-related moments of my life are Skyler Green catching that TD against UGA in Tiger Stadium and JV's long runs in the SECCG.

When I was a sophomore living in Hodges Hall in 1967, a guy came in the dorm one winter night and said,..."a dude just scored 50 points in an LSU freshman basketball game!"
I went the next game and saw the greatest college basketball player in the history of the game!

I lived there in '69 and I'm glad that I was able to watch the greatest basketball player ever, in the Old Cow Palace. I remember the long line that year when UK came to town.

Kentucky had two-three great players in those late 1968-69 days. One was Louie Dampier and another was a name even the youngsters of today will recognize...Pat Riley!!! Pete scored I think 69 and Kentucky's legendary coach of the day Adolph Rupp was quoted as saying, "we didn't waste time trying to stop him as we knew we couldn't, we just wanted the other guys to not get more that 20-30 points between them!"

being that 2011 was the only year I attended LSU I would say that the entire regular football season and the SEC Championship Game was the best.

Student Section was incredibly fun that year.

2011 SECCG coming in so flat, then destroying UGA in their backyard.

2011 Kickoff spanking #3 Oregon

2010 UF fake fg game. Florida was stunned at home. It was eerie.
