What you are failing to consider is that the other teams in the west have gotten much better. these aren't the same old Mississippi state and ole miss, they have quality coaches and quality players. You will have growing pains when you lose experienced talent early, and the competition is better.

Our margin for error is extremely fine. In years past we could somewhat get away with it, not this year. Mississippi state is up, ole miss is up, auburn is up, Arkansas is even up.

we should expect pains, however I do agree that we should recruit the players for the system we run, or that we would like to run. We have high quality players I just think a lot of them are not being set up to succeed, and they are young.

a few arguments i remember...

1. We'll never beat alabama again
2. we'll never beat Florida again
3. we'll never beat auburn again
4. we'll never win the SEC West again
5. we'll never win the SEC again

That's why a lot of people on here are desperate for miles to fail. They have been wrong for so long.

Hopefully he gets more than 10 carries in a big game by then

I LOVE this shite.
Yeah, he gets 15 touches instead of 10, and all of a sudden he's getting 400 yards rushing and we're winning games by 30 points?

Idiots.

I would have to disagree. Miles knew that kid had tons of off the field issues and still took him

what off the field issues did RP have in high school?

so you're saying Miles should've passed on the #1 player in the country in his own backyard? yeah...that would've gone over real well with LSU fans.

think before you type

Yeah well I don't expect a coach getting paid over 4million a year to lose

THIS is the real reason for the angst. Coach makes great income and jealousy/envy creeps in. I took editing liberty to make my point, but you typed it.
"He makes so much money! And we payin him for dis? He should never lose to any other team! Evah!!!"
In theory there's only one "best"coach in CFB at any given time, and only one team can have him at that time. Good grief.

Really? Then you aren't defending Miles by pointing to his past success and following that with "hey guys, it's cool. We're YOUNG this year"?

In 2008 our bad losses include:
30 point loss to Florida
14 Point loss to Georgia
18 Point loss to Ole Miss
and we lost to an Arkansas team that went 5-7 that year

2011 we had one of the best teams in college football history. So why are people saying Les Miles cant recover from this year?

1/9 was hard to watch but Alabama was pretty stout that year too. GET OVER IT

Everyone just calm the hell down. We were supposed to have growing pains this season.

I REALLY cant wait for all the Les Miles haters this year to start loving him in two years when Leonard Fournette is up for Heisman and we are back in the top ten.

As reasonable as anything on this board. I'm definitely in the patience camp.

he was one year removed from a national championship so no significant pressure was placed on CLM. the blame was placed squarely on the co-DCs.

But since Peveto and Crowton left, and Lee delivered in 2011, and we see the same problems, people now realize their blame was misplaced. Well, sane people do

People have been complaining about Les since 2005.

Plus, we beat Auburn, Miss State, and nearly upset a top 5 Bama team.

Even with a bad defense and great run game, you cannot expect to win games throwing 16 ints in 8 games. With Perriloux, we beat UGA and Bama. Lee threw 2 pick 6s against UGA (we lost by 14), and one against Bama (lost in overtime). He threw three ints against UGA, and 4 against Bama. Any defense that can get you the win after something like that, is a miracle worker. Contrary to popular belief, only our secondary was bad. We were 17th in the country in run defense. Giving up only 110 ypg.

Let's not count out the 31-30 loss to Arkansas as well. IMO with Perriloux, we win 3 more games that year, which would have taken us to 10-2 and probably in a rematch with Florida in the SECCG.

Having to start Lee completely RUINED that year. UGA 2 pick 6s, 14 points, Bama pick 6, 7 points, overtime. Arkansas, I'm pretty sure he would have done better than 9/21. While JJ did score twice through the air with no turnovers, Perriloux would have waxed that Arkansas defense. We lost by one freaking point.

It's so frustrating how one player can completely cause a chain reaction of epic suckage for an entire year. Same with Mathieu in 2012. We beat Bama with Mathieu, I'm sure of it. We lost by 11 to UF, and one magic punt return or forced scoop and score, could have changed the whole dynamic of that game against UF.

people can call LSU lucky, but I think we are very unlucky. The only real luck I see, was all those teams fall those last two weeks in 2007. Beyond that, we've been unlucky.

He got 10 carries, sporadically throughout the game.

He finally came in during the fourth drive, down 17-0 gained 22 yards on 3 straight carries, allowing Harris to throw the big play of the night, only for Miles to gift Hilliard with another TD. They then skip a drive, and give him the ball again the next drive twice for 8 yards. What do we do then, take him out and put in Williams who gets no gain and we have to punt down 24-7.

We don't see Fournette again, for literally a whole quarter (nearly midway through the third). By this time, they know Harris can't throw for shite because he's scared shitless, and we are down 31-7. They sell their soul to stop the run and now the only effective RB, has been pretty much neutralized.

But he has hands doesn't he? Why don't they at least try to send him out to catch a pass? Well gee, I don't fricking know.

Right now Fournette is averaging 17.20 yards per reception, and there has been literally one catch that he didn't gain at least 15 yards on.

So at 5.5 ypc on 18 carries (let's say 13-15 should come in the first half) That's 99 yards. How about 5 targets with an average of 3 catches? about another 45 yards. That's chain moving. That's keeping offensive drives alive. That's feeding your best player.

The fact that people can't see this shite is hysterical.

Fournette will not win the Heisman here. A back cannot reach the numbers and media coverage while sharing caries with 3+ other running backs.
